Sri Nayak
Sri Nayak, literally meaning one of respected birth, formerly known as Sri Nawab, is the third and the lowest rank of nobility in Vishwamitra which is conferred upon a non-royal subject in due recognition of their services. The rank-holders form the third group in the nobility and rank below the title-holders of Sri Rajanya and Sri Pradhana. The rank of Sri Nayak roughly equivalent to a baron.
The title was introduced on 30 July 2024 by Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya, two days ahead of his second installation.
History
The history of nobility in Vishwamitra dates back to 2020 when Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya constituted the national peerage. The barons formed the lowest class of the peerage after the dukes and the counts, and were awarded usually to members of parliament, heads of territories, diplomats, etc.
Following the abolition of the peerage in 2023, the Raj Bhushans replaced the barons in the peerage. The title of Raj Bhushan was discontinued in April 2024 by a royal decree. The title of Sri Nayak was created on 30 July 2024 along with the other two noble ranks.
