First Republic of Wamong
Monarchial Era

The Communal People's Republic of Wamong, also known as the Second Republic of Wamong, or the Communist Era, was the government that ruled over the nation of Wamong from 10 March 2021 to 3 June 2021. It was a period of time where the nation was under Maoist Communist rule, and lasted for 85 days. It was mostly marked by the ruling party, the Working People's Duighanist Party building up strength in the government and attempting to develop the nation enough so it could prepare itself for independence.

History

Communist Coup

On 10 March 2021, the Working People's Duighanist Party, under the leadership of Harold Duighan, declared Wamong to be a Communist state, and seized power in the Republic of Wamong. The WPDP gradually began doing away with much of the old system of government in Wamong, and began attempts to consolidate power. However, the coup led to immense instability in the country, so martial law was declared on 15 March 2021.

Martial Law

On 15 March 2021, the heads of the People's Red Army of Wamong, Commander Harold Duighan and Commander Vincent Ironside, seized power and declared martial law in the country under the new military junta, the Interim Communal Military Government. This military government was mostly implemented to quell instability and solidify Maoist Communist rule in the country. The period of military rule lasted until 26 March 2021, when a constitution was written for Wamong.

WPDP consolidates power

After martial law ended, the WPDP consolidated its power by making itself the sole ruling party. However, the party leadership was fearful it may be criticized for lack of democracy, thus it created an opposition party known as the Republican Party of Wamong. This party was nothing more than a puppet to the WPDP, but it allowed for possible future doubts about the nation's freedom. The WPDP won 57% of the vote in the 2021 Wamongian Snap Elections, which began after the constitution was amended on 16 April. The RPW won 43% of the vote, which was a shocking turnout given Wamong was effectively a one party state.

Increasing Authoritarianism

On the 21 May 2021, the RPW was banned, as well as all other political parties, save for the WPDP. This led to increasing allegations that Wamong was an Authoritarian state. Many foreign governments railed against the Authoritarian nature of the government, and referred to the government as "Communist Larpers". Eventually, however, the nation realized it needed to reform.

Reform and End of Communism

The government eventually realized Communism was not the way, and on 24 May 2021, Wamong declared it no longer supported Communism. However, the government still remained fairly hardline and Conservative. More reforms were made to lessen the Authoritarian nature of the government, until on 3 June 2021, the Communal People's Republic of Wamong was declared over, and a transitional government was formed to prepare for the transition from Communism to moderate Socialism.
