The Republic of Terredepaix, also just known as the Terredepaixan Republic, is a micronation located in Michigan, with a Territory in Drummond Island. It was created on August 27, 2022, after King William Brown I decided to change Terredepaix into a Republic. The concept of making Terredepaix a Republic had been around for a bit in William's mind, and finally on August 26, 2022 he decided to form the Republic. Before the Republic was fully created, however, he needed to make an administration, a declaration of independence, and a constitution. after he formed those things, the Republic was created.
Etymology
The name "Terredepaix" are the french words "Terre", "De", and "Paix", put together. They mean "Land of Peace" in French.
History
The Republic of Terredepaix was created on August 27, 2022 when President William declared the government change as well as independence. Shortly afterwards, he created a political party called the Union Of Left Centrists party, which he joined and became the chairman and founding member of. He began appointing people to work in the Terredepaixan Government, appointing king Xander I of the Kingdom of Paxaris as the Vice President of the Republic. He then gained many citizens for Terredepaix, most being members of the MPA, and installed them as government members, like in the Legislature and in the administration. Slowly, as more citizens were added, more and more political parties started existing.
Kingdom of Terredepaix
The Kingdom of Terredepaix was an absolute monarchy created by William Brown on May 8th, 2022. It is the predecessor of the Republic of Terredepaix. Union of Peace
The Union of Peace Was a Micronational Alliance the Kingdom of Terredepaix was a part of and founded. It was created by Terredepaix and Paxaris right after the Kingdom of Terredepaix was created, so Terredepaix could have some allies in its early stages.
Inheritance of Drummond Island
When the Kingdom of Terredepaix dissolved, and turned into the Republic of Terredepaix, the Territory that was annexed by the Kingdom, Terredepaixan Drummond island, was immediately given to the Republic of Terredepaix.
Annexation of School
After some careful thought by President William, he decided that he wanted to Annex the school that he went to. He let the Council of Freedom vote on it, and it was determined that the school William goes to would not be annexed by the Republic. William didn't veto the vote because he realized that claiming the school would not make sense, and cause unnecessary conflicts with King Xander of Paxaris. King Xander then proceeded to annex the school, much to the annoyance of president William.
Participation in Social Media
The Republic of Terredepaix [and the Kingdom of Terredepaix when it still existed] Is very active on the social media platforms Reddit and Discord. President William made a micronational alliance on Reddit [which later spread to Discord, Twitter and Tiktok], called the WMA, but later changed its name many times, with many other micronations such as yoppinland, paxaris, besonia, the holy hill billy empire, evimeria, etc. A large majority of Terredepaix's citizens are actually redditors that President William met from around the world! [most of these redditors that are Terredepaixan citizens are also a part of the WMA.] William has chatted with them, and thinks they are very nice people and good friends, even though josh has never met them in real life.
WMA [World Micronational Alliance]
The WMA, or World Micronational Alliance, is a micronational alliance created by President Josh Alexander [and a few others] on August 10, 2022. Terredepaix is the founding member of the Alliance. In August 2022, it merged with the UFAW, United Front Against Warmongers, due to similar members and similar goals. When this merge occured, the WMA and the UFAW became the MPA, Micronational Peace Alliance. The WMA has been through a lot of drama since its inception, the most notable of which being the "Germania Situation."
WMA-Serboslavian War
The WMA-Serboslavian war was a micronational conflict that occured on August 12th, 2022 between the WMA and its members, and the leader of the micronation Serboslavia, Mr. Serb. This was a conflict that was a major part of the Germania Situation, which in itself occured when a reddit user who goes by "Nefarious" made a nazi-like, religion banning, and possibly homophobic micronation called Germania. He posted about it on reddit, and subsequently got a lot of hate from the Micronational Reddit community. He was banned from the r/micronations subreddit and the reddit servers entirely. After Germania ceased to exist, Mr. Serb decided to annex all of it. Mr. Serb was in the WMA at the time, and when the other members learned of this annexation, they wanted to participate too. They discussed it with Mr. Serb, and he agreed. They also signed a Treaty over who got what of Germania, but the treaty wasn't fully official, and land claim skirmishes kept happening. After a while, Mr. Serb called the alliance members "Robbers who unfairly stole his land," even though he agreed to the terms. He left the WMA group chat, and said that Serboslavia was no longer allies [or going to participate in diplomacy with] the WMA and its member states. After this happened, the president of the WMA at the time, who goes by "raisin" or "distinct raisin," advised the alliance members to let it go for a bit, and they did. But a few hours later, Mr. Serb escalated the situation by Making a post on the r/micronation subreddit asking things like "how to declare war" and that he was "preparing and gearing up for conflict." Following article 2 of the WMA treaty, which is essentially a copy of NATO's article 5, the alliance declared war on Serboslavia after they felt that they were provoked. Mr. Serb falsely claimed that the alliance was coming for some sort of archipelago in italy, where Serboslavia is apparently located. He said that because of this, he was preparing his navy. The alliance just kind of laughed it off, but also discussed battling Mr. Serb online in a game, but that idea never came to fruition. Eventually, the "war" ended in a stalemate, and Germania became disputed Territory. Eventually, all parties dropped their claims and the conflict ended.
Union of Autonomous Terredepaixan Republics
The Union of Autonomous Terredepaixan Republics, or UATR, was an extremely short-lived commonwealth of sorts with 2 micronations, cambria and cronic, becoming autonomous Republics under the Republic of Terredepaix. It collapsed due to these 2 members leaving a few hours after they joined, and the fact that President Brown realized that it just wouldn't work. He got kind of sad, because every time he ever tries to unify Terredepaix with other micronations, it never works. Prime Minister Joseph Baker of the Republic of Cronic told President Alexander in a comment of a post Alexander made on r/freemicronations about the matter, " It’s just unlucky. But you gotta have the determination of rome. You must continue forward! Head up Mr President!”
September Wars
The September wars are what the Terredepaixan Government refers to as the 2 joke wars that the micronations of Serboslavia, Baltazaria, Heera, and Garmaxia. [Garmaxia was only in it as a joke and because it¨s leader, Gary, was bored], declared on Terredepaix and the MPA. The MPA and the Terredepaixan Government just laughed it off, and did not recognize any of these ¨wars¨ that President Brown called ¨Desperate ways for Mr. Serb to get back into the spotlight and re-obtain relevancy.¨
Elections & Votes
August 2022 Drummond Island Gubernatorial Election
On August 28, 2022, a Gubernatorial Election was Held for the Terredepaixan Territory of Drummond Island. After about 6 hours of voting, it was determined that the President of the Republic of Besonia, known as Ran, had won! This was notably the first election in Terredepaixan history.
August 2022 Key Rights Vote
On August 29th, 2022, a Legislative election was held to address key issues, like LGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, Usage of tobacco and non-medicinal drugs, Etc. It was notably the first legislative vote and the second vote in the history of the Republic. It was decided that equal rights would exist for all, tobacco would be illegal, non-medicinal drugs would be illegal, and non-lethal duels would be illegal. This would later be turned into the Terredepaixan Bill of Rights.
September 2022 Government change Referendum
On September 7, 2022, President Brown held a referendum to change Terredepaix's government type to a constitutional monarchy, after being inspired by what Prime Minister Joseph Baker of the Kingdom [and formally republic] of Cronic did with his Micronation, changing it from a Republic to a constitutional monarch. By the time the voting ended at 7:00 PM EST, it was determined that the Republic would stay.
Government
The Republic of Terredepaix is a constitutional republic led by a President. The President of Terredepaix is directly elected by the people and is the head of state and head of government of Terredepaix. Terredepaix has three branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial. Terredepaix has a legislature, known as the Council Of Freedom, that can make bills and send them to the President to either sign into law or veto, and a federal court to judge these laws. Terredepaix also has a Party Representation Congress [PRC] that represents each political party, with the chairman of each political party making up the members of the PRC. All Government members must be 12 or older, and be citizens of Terredepaix.
Constitution
The Republic of Terredepaix has a completely finished constitution, which is open to amendments. the constitution is on a Google Doc, and may be printed out in the future. It currently has 17 articles. It has only been signed by President Brown so far.

Presidential elections
Elections for President of Terredepaix occur every 2 years. The next Terredepaixan Presidential election will occur on August 27, 2024. The president is elected through a popular vote, and their vice president is the second highest-voted candidate.

Presidents of Terredepaix are elected on August 27 of any election year, and inaugurated the next month on September 27.

The Presidents terms are divided into quarters that last exactly 5 months each. Following this principle, there should be 5 quarters per presidential term.

Brown Presidency
The Brown Presidency began on August 27, 2022 and is currently happening. after the Republic was formed. Then king William Brown automatically became the first President of Terredepaix.
President Browns ideologies and viewpoints
President Brown Identifies as a left centrist. He belongs to the Union Of Left Centrists Party [UOLCP] of Terredepaix. He believes abortion should be legal and accepted, all people should be treated equally and with respect, and that free market economy is needed. He also listens to and respects every side of the political compass, even if they may not agree with him.

War
Terredepaix tries not to get into any micronational conflicts or wars, and only does so when provoked, but only the legislature and the president can vote if it should go to war after being provoked. If the majority consensus is yes, then Terredepaix will go to war, and on the flip side, if the majority consensus is no, Terredepaix will not go to war. If Terredepaix´s host country, the United States of America goes to war, Terredepaix will not get involved.
Periods of Mourning
Terredepaix will go into periods of mourning at the request of the President for a number of things, ranging from world leader deaths, Terredepaixan deaths, a national tragedy, etc. Terredepaix has so far only been in one period of mourning, when Queen Elizabeth II of England passed away. This Mourning period lasted from September 8th, 2022, to September September 20th, 2022. During these mourning periods, Terredepaix´s flag will change to monochrome, and citizens are expected to pay respects.
Independence
If the United States of America collapses, Terredepaix will attempt to become an actual independent nation. This isn't expected, but it may happen.
Economy
Money
The Republic of Terredepaix uses both the U.S and the hypothetical and work-in-progress, Terredepaixan dollars. The First model of the Terredepaixan dollar was created by President Ran of the Republic of Besonia.
Trade
Terredepaix has considered entering trade relations with other micronations. The trade would most likely be virtual as to not reveal the addresses of fellow micronationalists, as well as Terredepaix's own micronationalists, however President Alexander is considering selling and trading Terredepaixan apples, which grow fall from Terredepaixan trees, making it an official made-in-Terredepaix product.
Climate
Terredepaix is prone to rain and thunderstorms. It gets very hot in summer, and very cold in winter, due to Terredepaix being located in Michigan, which receives the Great Lakes Effect.
Relations
Relations with other Micronations
Terredepaix has formal Diplomatic relations with all NMA members. These include Besonia, Cronic, Garakhem, Cambria, Yoppinland, Evimeria, Paxaris, and others. Terredepaix's relations with Paxaris have been a little rocky throughout Terredepaix's history, but on September 1st, 2022 President Brown met with King Xander of Paxaris at their school for a diplomatic meeting to officially re-establish Terredepaix-Paxaris relations. On the other hand, Terredepaix does not recognize the following micronations: Almendria, Golden hill, Baltazaria, Serboslavia [off and on], among others.
Alliance of Friendly Nations
On September 9, 2022 Terredepaix, along with president Brown´s friends micronations, Jaxonia and Paxaris, founded the Alliance of Friendly nations, which is a personal micronational alliance between President Alexander of Terredepaix, King Xander of Paxaris, and King Jaxon of Jaxonia.

Relations with Macronations
Terredepaix recognizes all U.N recognized microstates, but refuses to recognize the governments of some of those states, these states being: Democratic People's Republic of Korea, People's Republic of China, The Republic of Turkmenistan, The Republic of the Sudan, The Russian Federation, The Republic of Belarus, The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, among others. Terredepaix also does not recognize the governments of states that are dictatorships, or have harsh ideologies.
Citizenship
Citizens of Terredepaix must fill out the Google Form that President Josh created, and the President will personally accept or deny the application, but most applications are accepted. Meme/Joke applications will be automatically denied. Citizens can be any age and at least know a decent bit about Terredepaix [pets and babies do not count]. There are specific groups of people who are not aloud to be citizens, like nazis, doxxers, etc. etc.

Terredepaixan Political Parties are a way for its citizens to express their ideologies and viewpoints in the Government. As of now, there are 4 Political Parties in Terredepaix, with one defunct one. The Active parties are: The Union of Left Centrists party, The Peoples Commonwealth Anarchist party, The Scandinavian Union party, and the Independent Party. The one defunct party is the Socialist party of Terredepaix, which President Josh Alexander dissolved after the September wars.
