Qardasha, also spelled Qardaisha, officially the Islamic Sultanate of Qardasha (Bengali: কারদাইশার ইসলামী সালতানাত, Arabic: السلطنة الإسلامية لقاردايشة, Qardaishan: السلطنت اسلامه پى قاردايشا), also known as The Islamic Sultanate (Not to be confused with the Islamic State, an Islamist militant group in the middle east), is a landlocked multi-ethnic, persianate, self-proclaimed sovereign state which succeeded its predecessor, the Worker's Socialist Republic of Russiaka. Located in North America, it is completely landlocked in the United States of America, specifically in the southern parts of the state of Texas. The capital is Islambul, also spelled Islambol (Ottoman Turkish: إسلامبول lit. "Full of Islam"), also called Payitaht (Ottoman Turkish: پای تخت Qardaishan: پای تاہتح Base of the throne), which acts as the national administrative capital. The nation has 3 official languages, Arabic, Bengali, and Qardaishan (also called Qardashi, sometimes referred to as Ponaling) with English acting as the De-facto Administrative language and the lingua franca of the nation.
The nation was founded on November 12, 2021, after declaring independence from Worker's Socialist Republic of Russiaka. The nation was founded by Sultan Orzan bin Muhammad who established Islamic and Orzanlu rule in the nation.
Qardasha is officially an Islamic nation, having Islam as the official religion. Despite officially having a constitution, the nation claims to have the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah/Hadith as the constitution. Qardasha also sees itself as the successor of the Gunpowder empires, much of its cultural and government trappings being heavily influenced by the empires.
Etymology
Qardasha or Qardaișa (Qardashi: قاردايشا) comes from the Azerbaijani word "qardaş" which means brother. Qardaişa also means "sister" in the Azerbaijani Language, however Qardasha/Qardaisha is usually translates as "brotherhood."
Despite Qardasha being spelled Qardasha, the official pronunciation is something closer to Quardaisha rather than Kardasha as most people pronounce it. The sultanate's name has been like this due to a translation error. Qardasha still remains the official spelling of the nation despite it being pronounced completely different.
History
The Sultanate of Qardasha is a relatively young nation as of 2023, being only created in 2021. Despite this, Qardasha has had a rich history full of prosperity, crisis, and culture. Unfortunately, Qardasha is subject to multiple wars, being a relatively large Muslim nation, Qardasha is also subject to a lot of Islamophobia. Recently, Qardasha has claimed that it is one of the few micronations to receive a terrorist threat from an Islamist Militant Group, and win.
Geography
Climate
Qardasha's 2 regions, the Mainland and Chatu Khorasan both face different climates. Chatu Khorasan, being the northern region, experiences more milder climate than its southern counterpart where the capital is located. Regardless, Qardasha faces high temperatures year round. The mainland is notorious for its humidity, every summer, the mainland faces drought. However the nation is supported by the USA to combat such drought. The 2023 drought within Islambol and the mainland has been one of the worsts within the nation's history, temperatures rising well above average temperatures of desert nations such as Iraq and Syria. During the summer the nation usually sees temperatures from the 70-90˚F (21-32˚C) Range, with the Mainland usually seeing the 85-109˚(29-43˚C) range. In the cooler months Qardasha usually sees 60-30˚F (15-0˚C) range.
Environment
The nation's 2 regions have drastically different environments. Chatu Khorasan is a swampy area whilst the Mainland is more of a grasslands area, the region belonging to the Coastal Plains Region of Southern Texas. However, due to Qardasha's nearness to the coast and waterways traveling through the nation, Qardasha has rich fertile land that is used for farming.
Administrative divisons
The Sultanate has many different ways to split up its territories/claimed land. The sultanate has roughly 60 square miles of claimed land. The nation borders one nation: The United States of America
Qardasha is comprised of two regions: Central Qardasha, and the Chatu Khorasan. Central Qardasha has six provinces within the region. The biggest of which is Sharag (Qardaishan: شرق, lit. East), followed by Bari' Ardud (Qardaishan: باريئ اردود, lit. Greater Ardud), Shamal (Qardaishan: شمل lit. North), Joddhur Sheher (Qardaishan: جآدور شهحهر, lit. City of War), Chenub (Qardashi: چهنوب, lit. South), and finally the capital city, Islambol (إسلامبول, lit. Full of Islam).
Most claimed land belongs to the Royal Family and all land is classified as the "Sultan's Land" with land being lent to cities that can lend that land to individual citizens.
Among the many provinces of Qardasha are Islamic Independent Districts (IIDs) which are autonomous districts that normally encompass a Masjid or Islamic Religious Prayer site, these districts are left untouched and are governed by the people who live in them.
Empire of Qardasha
The Empire of Qardasha, known officially as the Sublime Islamic Sultanate of Qardasha and her vassals, is the empire of Qardasha acting similarly to a micronational organization with vassals, states that act as autonomous regions in Qardasha, as well as colonies. There are 3 types of states within the empire based off of influence and size: Sultanates - larger nations with greater influence, Emirates - medium-smaller nations with medium-little influence, and Protectorates - nations that are fully independent that are protected by the empire in exchange for helping during times of war.

Military
- See also: Qardaishan Armed Forces
The Qardaishan Military also called the Qardaishan Armed Forces, is the group tasked with handling the defense of Qardasha on all levels. The Military is comprised of many divisions mainly led by the Grand Vizier, Muhammad Nafiz bin Hassan, but ultimately being led by the sultan himself.
Government
Being a theocracy and an absolute monarchy, the nation claims to be ruled by the Islamic God, Allah, and the sultan. The nation, however, is a unitary state, in which all legislative, executive, and judiciary power ultimately rests in the hands of the hereditary Sultan. The Sultan has absolute power and can decide whether to give autonomy to certain aspects or be a dictator. Previously, Qardasha was in a state of both, with the sultan primarily ruling by royal decrees, taking advice from the Sultan's Great Court, a council of advisors made up of Viziers and Pashas, as well as sometimes verifying decisions with the Vizierate. Currently, The sultan has disbanded the Vizierate and the Imamate, calling for a rule primarily by royal decree, the Chatu Vizier rank was abolished, but viziers still remain in the Sultan's court.
The royal family dominates the political system. The family's vast numbers allow it to control most of the sultanates' important posts and to have an involvement and presence at all levels of government. The number of princes is estimated to be at least 11, with the most power and influence being wielded by the first princes of Qardasha, Prince Dawood bin Orzan, and Prince Bibo bin Dawood bin Orzan. Princes in the nation are called Şehzades and have a high level of respect and honor in the nation.
Legal System
Qardasha is an absolute monarchy, with the Sultan's word having the force of law. The judiciary branch is subordinate to the Sultan. According to Qardasha's constitution, Sharia law is the sole source of legislation. Sharia court departments within the civil court system are responsible for family-law matters, such as divorce and inheritance. Qardasha's creed is the Shi'ite Ja'fari creed, however in the local level there are a number of Sunni Sharia Courts as well as secular courts to account for the diversity of the nation. Qardasha's legal code protects almost all basic human rights as well as civil liberties and personal freedoms, however, due to the theocratic nature of the nation, members of the LGBTQIA+ community are heavily prosecuted in the nation, they technically have rights, but ultimately those rights are ignored. Although the legal code calls for deportation of members of the community, in practice most are given the death penalty. Qardasha's constitution guarantees freedom of speech; however, committing blasphemy is a crime that can be punishable by death. Qardasha's constitution also guarantees freedom of religion, however some religions and sects are banned and will be punished with the death penalty, the most notable of which being the Qadiyani/Ahmadi community, the group being heavily persecuted in Qardasha. Recently, Qardasha has also begun prosecuting Sunni Muslims, especially with the advent of Orzan's 'Second Revolution' and Fatimiyyah.
Legislature in the past used to be controlled by the Vizierate. Currently, Legislature is controlled by the Sultan and his court.
Government Positions
The Sultanate has other government positions to help the sultan in ruling the nation. The most notable of which is the Grand Vizier (Qardaishan: باريئ ڤازير Bār'i Vāzēr, Turkish: Sadrazam, Ottoman Turkish: صدر اعظم) who acts as the top advisor to the sultan and the general of the Qardaishan Armed Forces. The Grand Vizier is at the top with the only position that has the same ranking as him being the Bashi-e Azam who has similar duties to him but mainly tends to state matters rather military matters. Other positions include:
- Vizier: an advisor to the sultan.
- Pasha: a vizier from the ranks of the military and a high-ranking officer as well as an advisor to the sultan.
- Minister: the head of one of the many ministries of Qardasha
High Command
High command refers to a group of Viziers, Qadis (Judges), Advisors, Soldiers, and Pashas who are apart of the Sultan's Great Court. Having high amount of influences being almost second to the Grand Vizier/Bashi-e Azam. They are tasked with advising the sultan before he makes and important decision as well as aiding him and executing his direct will.
Arsenal of the Sultan
The Arsenal of the Sultan refers to a group of people in the Sultan's Great Court who execute the most direct will of the Sultan, primarily being tasked to neutralize threats and enemies of the state. The Arsenal consists of honorary titles that are given to individuals based off their skills. These titles include:
- The Sword of Orzan
- The Shield of Orzan
- The Axe of Orzan
- The Spear of Orzan
- The Bow of Orzan
- The Dagger of Orzan
Hands of the Sultan
The hands of the sultan refers to members of the Arsenal of the Sultan who are trusted with highly secretive information. The members of this group are the two most trusted people of the Sultan, being comprised of his Right and Left hand. The two members of this group are usually the current Sword and Shields of Orzan as well as the current Grand Vizier and Bashi-e Azam. With the sultan included this group was nicknamed the 'Pillars of Qardasha' and are the highest ranking officials of Qardasha second to the Sultan.
Economy
The Qardaishan economy is a combination of a digital economy using crypto-currencies and a physical economy with the trading with other nations and the printing and distribution of money. After Orzan's Treasury Act, Qardasha's economy entered a new golden age. Qardasha's economy is considered very strong for micronationalism, the biggest industries in Qardasha being design and technical services. The GDP per Capita is 14,622 Rupees which roughly equates to $482,526 USD; inflation being relatively low despite recent times. However, the government controls 89% of the nation's GDP, with 1% of the population owning 98% of the Nation's GDP. Qardasha primarily relies on the service industry with the government acting as the largest employer. Although conversion to USD attempts have been made, they have all been highly inaccurate; however, the Qardaishan Rupee has some value with citizens being able to pay for services such as websites, designs, and animations with the Qardaishan Rupee.
Previously, Qardasha's economy was primarily based online using crypto-currencies. With majority of the population not living in Qardasha, a real economy was never been created in the nation. The majority of 'Online-Citizens' were still unemployed with only a handful of people participating in the online economy via Qardasha's Discord Server. It is estimated that 90% of the population (online) are unemployed.
The old crypto-currency used in Qardasha was the Qardaishan Digital Dirham (QDD) which replaced the Qardaishan Digital Dinar (under the same abbreviation), which itself replaced the Qardaishan Digital Dollar, during the Qardaishan Golden Age of Trade. Currently, Qardasha uses the Qardaishan Rupee. During the height of the golden age, the cyber-economy of Qardasha was considered by Qardaishans to be one of the best micronationalist economies due to the circulation and flow of money, as well as trade with other nations. Taxation
Qardasha tries to follow Shariah Law when it comes to taxation. After the Treasury Act, Qardaishans were taxed based off of their assigned class which was based off of their religion. The classes are, Muslimeen (Muslims), Dhimmi (Christians, Jews, and Sabians), Mushrikeen (Hindus and other polytheists), and Kufr/Kafiroon (Agnostics and Atheists). The Muslimeen and Dhimmi class are taxed only 2.5% in accordance to the Shariah (Muslimeen ending up paying more taxes due to the religious tax of Zakat, a core pillar of Islam). Mushrikeen are forced to pay 35% and Kufr 3%. Taxation is mainly based off the total wealth of the person. When it comes to the citizens who are residents of the nations, they are taxed in perfect accordance to the Shariah.
Demographics
Members of the Royal family are mainly ethnically Bengali and belongs to other ethnic groups of India. The majority of the population belongs to a separate ethnic group of Qardaşi the which makes up around 60-80%. The rest of the population belongs to minority groups. According to the census of 2023, 93% of the population is Muslim, 6% Christian, and the rest 1% Atheist or other religious groups. The official religion of Qardasha is Islam, however as of April 22nd, the state school of thought for Islamic Jurisprudence is the Ja'fari school, effectively making Qardasha a Shi'ite Muslim nation.
Languages of Qardasha
There are 3 official languages of Qardasha, Qardashi, Bengali, and Arabic. As of a new law passed by the Vizierate in 2023, Qardashi is the main administrative language of the nation. Along with the official language, there are 10 scheduled languages; Hindi, Urdu, English, Yoruba, Persian, French, Spanish, Kattspek, Esperanto and Turkish. Arabic is the language of religion, with Bengali being the language spoken by the royal family. Qardashi is the administrative language of Qardasha, the language itself naturally developing from a Conlang. All scheduled languages with the exception of Persian are common languages spoken on the streets of Qardasha, Persian is considered the language of prestige and nobility alongside Arabic although Arabic is mainly seen with a "religious honor" in which people respect Arabic for being the main language of the Religion of Islam. In recent times, with the development of the Qardashi Language, Qardashi is seen in a more noble light, with learners of language being able to earn 100,000 Rupees once they reach fluency.
Most laws and government business conducted by the Sultan is in Qardashi. 80% of the people who live in the nation speak Qardashi as of the 2023 language census, and 40% of respondents opted to take the census in Qardashi. All radio and TV produced in the nation is in Qardashi. However, everyone in the nation speaks English, and Qardashis often speak English amongst themselves.
Education
Education in the Sultanate is moderate, with most citizens already educated from other nations. Education is free in the nation and the government is investing heavily in the education system. The first university built was the University of the Emperor Orzan bin Muhammad (Qardashi: الپاديشاة عرزن بن محمد ى مادراسا Al-Padishah Orzan bin Muhammad-e Madrassa) an online school with the hopes and aims of helping citizens learn new things and achieve higher education. The school is primarily known for being the learning source of the Qardashi Language, as well as the nation being notable for teaching Kattspek, the national language of the Tektek Empire, a fellow Orzanlu nation.
Culture
- See also: Islamic Culture
Qardasha is considered to be a persianate society, with majority of its culture being influenced by Persian culture, Qardashi itself being an Indo-Iranian Language that is heavily influenced under Farsi. Qardasha is also considered a Turkic nation and/or a South Asian nation culturally. This is due to much of its cultural and government trappings being from the Ottoman Empire, Qardasha itself seeing itself as the Ottoman Successor.
Qardaishan culture is very similar to many middle eastern and South Asian nations. With many citizens being immigrants, they also bring their cultures along with them. The government and crown regulates a strong Ottoman influence in the nation with many aspects of the nation resembling the Ottoman Empire. The Qardaishans follow a code called the Kurallar (كُورالّٰر) which sets a basic code of honor for Qardaishans, specifically the Qardashi Ethnicity to follow. With 93% of the population being Muslim, Islam plays an important aspect in the nation with Muslim culture being seen everywhere in the nation.
Social Structure
Qardasha follows a social structure similar to what the Ottomans and previous Arab Caliphates had with the exception of slavery. The top of this structure is the Sultan with he being the most respected out of all other. Followed by the sultan is a group of individuals who call themselves "High Command" usually the top advisors of the sultan who carry out his direct orders. Followed by High Command are viziers and pashas. The actual Royal Family is next, with the sultan having a large family many people are related to the sultan. After the Royal Family is the Imperial Nobility - the highest class a normal citizen can achieve without becoming a vizier or a pasha.
Following the Imperial Nobility are citizen classes with the highest people with respect being the People of the Sword (Qardaishan: ناس ى سيف Nas e Sayf,) who make up most of the military. After the People of the Sword are the People of the Pen (Qardaishan: ناس ى قلم Nas e Qalam) who are scholars, writers, and poets. In some cases, however, poets and scholars have more respect than the People of the Sword. Followed by the People of the Pen are the People of Trade (Qardaishan: ناس ى ديرحم Nas e Dirham), who own shops and businesses, who are traders and artisans, etc. Finally we have the lowest class which is the big majority of the nation; the People of Husbandry (Qardaishan: ناس ى موته Nas e Mute, Lit. people of the majority) who are commoners, farmers, etc.
Poetry
Poetry is a big aspect of Qardaishan culture with poets being more respected than Viziers and Nobles. Poetry is mainly written in the 3 Official Languages with English Poetry also being written as well. There are some exceptions to this with some poets writing in Esperanto and/or Polish. The Sultanate does its best to promote Qardashi Literacy, with the Sultan himself being one of the main Poets in the Qardashi Language.
Food
Qardaishan cuisine is a mix of Persian and South Asian cuisine. Many famous dishes such as Biriyani are common in the nation, along with other Basmati Rice dishes. Tea plays an important role in the nation's culture - with tea being the national drink of the nation, Qardaishans drink tea for all occasions all throughout the day. Persian Tea and Masala Chai are famous among the Qardaishans.
Tea and Coffee
With tea being the national drink of Qardasha, specifically Masala Chai (Hindi: मसाला चाय Urdu: مصالحہ دار چائے Bengali: মশলা চা), tea is a big aspect of Qardaishan Culture. It's common to see Tea Venders on the street selling all different types of Tea. Most restaurants that inhabit the borders of the nation sell both Tea and Coffee. With the majority of the populous there is also a minority of Coffee drinkers. Aside from tea, coffee is the second most popular drink in Qardasha with Qardaishans drinking coffee very often.
Qardasha also has its own tea with a milked version and 'raw' version. Being based off a combination of Persian Tea and Masala Chai. The tea is said to have healing properties due the amount of ginger in the tea.
National Holidays
Qardasha uses 2 main calendars, the Islamic Hijri Calendar as the official calendar, and the Gregorian Calendar for international events and Christian Holidays. On an official level, holidays have 2 statuses: National Holidays and Locally Recognized Holidays. National Holidays affect the entire nation and usually entail a day off of work or school for citizens whilst Locally Recognized Holidays affect provinces or vassal states and usually entail a half day of work or school. In total, Qardasha has 22 official holidays.
