The Prime Minister of Doland (Dolish: Premier Minister von Dolen) is the head of government of the Dolish Realm. The prime minister sits as a member of parliament, advises the president on how to exercise some of their powers, chairs the Council of Ministers and nominates its ministers for office.

The prime minister sits as a member of parliament as well as a government minister.

The office is currently vacant.

History

The prime ministry started out as the Chancellor of Doland on 1 July 2023. However, the office was reshaped into the current prime ministry.

Role

The role of the prime minister includes:

  • Leading the Government
  • Nominating Government Ministers
  • Setting the Government Agenda
  • Proposing Government Legislation
  • Coordinating the Actions of Ministers
  • Advising the President
  • Representing the Government at Home and Abroad

Appointment

The prime minister is appointed by the President of Doland and officially serves at their pleasure. However, by constitutional convention, they are appointed on their ability to command confidence in parliament, so are typically the leader of the largest party in parliament, and in practice they serve for as long as they can command parliament's confidence or until their party loses a general election.

The prime minister can serve an infinite number of terms.
