Arkgate is the oldest, largest and capital city in the Dolish Realm. Founded by President Knightley, it is a key city in the administration of Doland as well as Dolish history. Since its foundation, it has hosted the national government and parliament.
History
Arkgate was founded on 2 July 2023 by President Lucas Knightley as a base for the nation and government operations.
Administration
Arkgate is the seat of two levels of administration - local and national.
Local Government
Arkgate has been granted some de facto devolved powers for self governance. The city has a small council and an executive mayor. Despite this, parliament can overrule decisions and actions taken by the city council and mayor.
National Government
Arkgate serves as the seat for the national government. It is the home of government institutions such as parliament, government, the president and the cabinet.
The armed forces are also headquartered in the city.
