The President of Tropicana is the head of state in the Democratic Republic of Tropicana.
History
The role of President was established on 13 May 2022. It was founded when the Democratic Republic of Tropicana by Lucas de Tropicana, who took the role after its foundation.
Role and Duties
The President wields absolute power over Tropicana and may exercise it when the officeholder sees fit. However, there are a few duties the President is typically required to carry out.
These duties include:
- Chairing the Cabinet
- Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
- Passing Acts
- Appointing Cabinet Ministers or Approving Nominations
- Signing Acts into Effect
Appointment
The President, as a dictator, has a term length of life tenure. When a President leaves office the Tropicanan Senate may appoint a replacement. If the senate cannot decide who to appoint then the Prime Minister of Tropicana, if one had been appointed, may succeed the Presidency.
Whoever succeeds the Presidency also takes over as the Leader of the Workers' Party of Tropicana.
Styles of Address
The President typically is given the formal style of "Their Excellency", with 'their' being corrected depending on who is in office, and may also be referred to as "Mr President" or "Madam President".
