The Democratic Republic of Tropicana, commonly referred to as Tropicana, is a micronation founded on 13 May 2022 and is located within the United Kingdom. Tropicana refers to itself as a "sovereign state" which it has done since its foundation.
History
The Democratic Republic was founded on 13 May 2022 by President Lucas de Tropicana. Initially it was founded as a functioning democracy, which did not last for long with Lucas establishing dictatorship over the nation.
Government and Politics
The nation is a semi-presidential republic currently under a totalitarian dictatorship. As a result, within the nation's government there is both a President and a Prime Minister.
The national legislature is the National People's Congress, which is made up of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies. Members of both bodies are members of the Workers' Party of Tropicana. The Cabinet of Tropicana is also selected from senior party members.
Defence
Tropicana relies on the Armed Forces of Tropicana to defend the nation from foreign micronational threats. As well as this they are used to operate and staff other aspects of the nation.
Foreign Affairs
Topicana has no official foreign policy, but is open to alliances and agreements with like-minded micronations.
