The Chamber of Deputies is the lower house of the National People's Congress in the Democratic Republic of Tropicana.
History
The Chamber of Deputies was established on 13 May 2022 with the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Tropicana. It is the youngest house in the National People's Congress.
Role
The Chamber assists the President of Tropicana in the legislative process. The chamber may propose and debate bills to ensure they conform to the values of the Workers' Party of Tropicana before they ask the President to review them - or to review the bills for the president,
Membership
Members of the Chamber are referred to as 'Deputies'. Deputies are typically selected by the President but may by nominated by the Prime Minister of Tropicana or the Senate of Tropicana.
Leadership
As head of government the Prime Minister of Tropicana is responsible for chairing the chamber. As well as this the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies also presides over the chamber. However due to the regime the nation is under the President of Tropicana does have absolute authority over the chamber if the officeholder decides to exercise it.
