The Government of Tropicana is the national government of the Democratic Republic of Tropicana.
History
The government was formed on 13 May 2022, with the foundation of Tropicana and the Presidency. The government was founded by Lucas de Tropicana.
Legislative Branch
The legislative branch of the government consists of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies, which makes up the National People's Congress.
Chamber of Deputies
The Chamber of Deputies, who's members are referred to as 'Deputies', is the lower house of congress. Most members of government have a seat in the chamber. The chamber's primary role is to help the Workers' Party of Tropicana enact policy within the nation. All deputies are members of the Workers' Party.
Senate
The Senate is the upper house of congress. There are currently only 10 seats on the senate, one of which is reserved for the President of Tropicana. The senate acts as a supervisory body to the Chamber of Deputies, keeps them in check and in line with the Workers' Party's values and gives final ascent on a bill before it goes to the President for presidential ascent.
Executive Branch
The President
The President, as head of state, holds absolute power over Tropicana. As a result they may rule without Congress, appoint senators and deputies as well as Cabinet Ministers and appoint the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister
The Prime Minister is appointed by the President. The Prime Minister's primary roles are to chair Chamber of Deputies meetings, advise the President and nominate Cabinet Ministers.
Cabinet
The Cabinet consists of all ministers appointed by the President. They have the role of advising the President and helping them pass legislation.
