The President of Osteau is the head of state in the Republic of Osteau. The president is also the head of the executive branch of government and has right to sit as commander-in-chief of any national armed forces that may be established.
History
The presidency was established on 19 August 2022 and is the oldest national office in the republic as well as being the highest office. When it was established Violet Knight, the national and office's founder, declared herself officeholder.
Powers and Duties
The President is the sole person in the republic formally vested with executive power over national governance. For legislation to become law, it must attain assent of the president.
