The Populist Party of Fontasia, abbreviated to PPF and occasionally referred to as the Dollenic Coalition or the Dollens is a centrist, syncretic and big tent political party in the Kingdom of Fontasia. Established on 25 May 2022, it is currently lead by no current director in the Supreme Directorate.

Ideology

The Populist Party of Fontasia supports populist and centrist ideology, being the most liberal political party in the Fontasian Supreme Directorate. It has its own Directorate Sector, known as the Centrist Sector.

Determining Party in Fontasian Supreme Directorate

The Populist Party, due to it only having one party within its sector and because of its neutral politics was made the determining party in lawmaking and overall Directorate votes. This system was abolished on December 12, 2022, when Praetor Joseph Montgomery passed the Democracy Act, with the official reason in the Act for it’s removal being that it gave the Centrists too much power over the other Parties in the Supreme Directorate.

History

The Dollenic Coalition, commonly referred to as the Dollens were one of the two original Assemblian political groups that participated alongside the Free Fontasia Movement in the Fontasian Revolution of 2015. Formed in early May 2015 in response to the establishment of the Free Fontasia Movement, it was originally lead by Jewish Fontasians living in Orkar, a region which is now within the Buddie Union. The Dollens were defeated at the Congress of Zippid to determine which group would rule Fontasia, and quickly integrated into the Free Fontasian majority.

The Dollens advocated for a more lenient solution to the political crisis between Fontasia and Sandrania at the time, supporting Fontasian autonomy rather than outright independence. This lead them to be ridiculed by the Free Fontasians, the more radical group who wanted complete independence. During the Free Fontasian political purge immediately after the abdication of King Jacob I as King of Fontasia and Sandrania, known as the Terror of June, Dollens were frequently accused of counterrevolution, which caused the group to assimilate into the Free Fontasian movement.

The Populist Party of Fontasia was established on 25 May 2022. It first Director was E.M. In the 2022 Summer Directorial Election, N.P. was elected as Director. N.P. was defeated by J.G. in the 2022 Fall Directorial Election. Isaac was elected unopposed for the seat in the 2023 Winter Directorial Elections, much to the disdain of other parties due to his liberal politics. Two days later, Praetor Joseph Montgomery dismissed Director Isaac from his position, with popular support by nearly all Supreme Directorate parties. Isaac would become the shortest-serving Director in Fontasian history, being Director for less than 2 days.
