The awards and honours of the Republic of Molossia consist of four orders of merit, two military medals, and two diplomatic medals.[1]

Orders of merit

Order of the Mustang

Order of the Mustang medal.
Order of the Desert Star, Second Class medal.

The Order of the Mustang is the highest honour bestowed by Molossia. It has only been given four times.

The Molossia website states:

In recognition for the service, loyalty, and dedication of individuals other than Molossian citizens. Their outstanding efforts on behalf of Molossia have made our nation a better place.

Order of the Desert Star

Order of the Desert Star, First Class medal.

The Order of the Desert Star is an order of merit which was formerly bestowed by Molossia. It was issued to thirteen individuals by the National Assembly on 27 May 2000, and has not been issued since. It is the only honour in Molossia to be divided into two tiers: First Class and Second Class. Today, the Order of the Desert Star, whilst still recognised, is not actively awarded, and has largely been superseded by the Order of the Mustang and medals such as the Friendship Medal and the Desert Palm.

The Molossia website states:

In recognition for the service, loyalty, and dedication of the Molossian People.

Order of the Miner

Order of the Miner medal.

The Order of the Miner is one of two lesser orders which were established alongside the Order of the Desert Star. It was awarded only once, on 27 May 2000, and was effectively only used by Kevin Baugh to award himself more medals.

The Molossia website states:

For dedication and loyalty to the people and nation of Molossia, for a period not less than 6 months.

Order of the Palm

Order of the Miner medal.

The Order of the Palm is one of two lesser orders which were established alongside the Order of the Desert Star. It was awarded only once, on 27 May 2000, and was effectively only used by Kevin Baugh to award himself more medals.

The Molossia website states:

For dedication and loyalty to the people and nation of Molossia, for a period not less than 3 months.

Military medals

Molossia - East Germany War Medal

Molossia - East Germany War Medal.

Awarded for service in the East German-Molossian War. The medal is a repurposed Medal for Faithful Service in Fighting Groups of the Working Class, an East German medal that was originally given for 15 years of military service. It has only been issued to two individuals: Kevin Baugh and King Christopher I of Vikesland, the latter in recognition of an expedition in 2009 by the Vikeslandic Navy to Ernst Thälmann Island, which Molossia claims is home to an East German remnant.

The Molossia website states:

In recognition for the service during the ongoing War with East Germany, 2 November 1983 VII - Present. Awarded to all persons that have performed service during the war. The medal is an actual East German Army Service Medal, re-purposed for service in the ongoing struggle against that nation.

Molossia - Mustachistan War Medal

Molossia - Mustachistan War Medal.

Awarded for service in Molossia's staged war against the semi-fictional nation of Mustachistan. It is unknown who, if anybody, the medal was actually awarded to.

The Molossia website states:

In recognition for the service during the War with Mustachistan, 22 May - 8 June 2006 XXIX. Awarded to all Molossians that performed service during the war. The image on the front is two crossed rifles, symbolizing the trial of arms, and the reverse has the words "Molossia - Mustachistan War, 2006". The ribbon is purple and gold, the colors of the Mustachistan Flag.

Diplomatic medals

Desert Palm

Desert Palm medal.

The Desert Palm is commonly awarded to leaders of other micronations.

The Molossia website states:

The desert can be a barren place, but as the desert palm brings life to the wasteland, this medal signifies the bearer as having brought life to their own nation - and further demonstrates amity between our nations, as one would find among comrades at an oasis.

Friendship Medal

Friendship Medal.

The Friendship Medal is commonly awarded to leaders of other micronations.

The Molossia website states:

In recognition for the amity and service to the Molossian Nation by individuals other than Molossian citizens. Their kindness and generosity on behalf of Molossia have made our nation a better place.
