The New Prussian Imperial Guard Corps is a household division of the New Prussian Imperial Army with the sole duty of protecting the Imperial Family and historical landmarks.
History
The New Prussian Imperial Guard was formed on 13 February 2019. It currently consists of 2 regiments, the Bavarian Guard and the Saxon Guard. A person who is in the royal family can join the Imperial Guard. For a person to join the Imperial Guard, they must have New Prussian citizenship for at least one week and must have been in the Imperial Army or Navy for at least one month. The Guard is a branch of the Imperial Army but is also overseen by the Ministry of the Armed Forces and of the Ministry of Homeland Security (as of June 15, 2021). Via an act from the New Prussian Imperial Parliament, The Imperial Guard was merged into the Imperial Army and renamed to the New Prussian Imperial Guard Corps.
