New Eastonstein (US: /nuː-iːstnstin/ (
(listen)) was created 13 October 2023. New Eastonstein is a Direct democracy and is centered around the idea of Freedom. It has a population of 43 as of February 2024. The leader's official title is the Headmaster. A new government was established 8 December 2023 with a new constitution being ratified, this government was basically identical to the old one but with some minor changes.
The current Headmaster is Easton. New Eastonstein currently has 7 Municipalities. Despite being established in October 2023, its history can be dated back to as early as October 2022 with the creation of Easton's Kingdom.
Etymology
New Eastonstein's name comes from a mix of the leader and inspiration for the country's name, Easton and the country of Liechtenstein put together. Early suggested names include Eastonia and Eastia, but these were not chosen mainly because people didn't like the sound of it and the similarity between the name Eastonia and the European country of Estonia. The country has also been called Eastonville and Eastonland by citizens despite the official name being New Eastonstein.
History
Prototype
Sometime around October 2022 a Kingdom called Easton's Kingdom was created around the stump. It was a monarchy with Easton as king of the stump. Some time after 2023 began, Easton's Kingdom declared war against Alex's Kingdom. Not to long after the kingdom would be regularly overthrown and changed to the Soviet Republic of Ausouxem, which made virtually everything illegal. Around the same time 2 citizens of the kingdom broke off to form Connor's Kingdom with had the same government structure but had Connor as its king.
Sometime in April Ausouxem stopped overthrowing the kingdom and instead created its own right next to it. Easton's kingdom disbanded around May of 2023 and Ausouxem disbanded around early August of 2023.
Foundation
The idea for New Eastonstein started around early October of 2023 as a joke, with the creation of Easton Bucks, but with the need for banks and people to create it a government was formed. New Eastonstein was founded 14 October 2023 and had about 5 people at the time. Wesdunn in the municipality of New Holmshire became the capitol of the new country. The government was centered around money for a few days until 13 October when a constitution was made.
Modern History
A military was set up around early November. Later that month the Patriot Party was formed and Bobopolis in Veno became the new capitol shortly after the municipality's creation. On 30 November 2023 It was approved by Parliament that 3 new bills be made for the country's currency. The new bills saved New Eastonstein from the economic crisis the nation was facing at the time. A new constitution was made 7 December 2023 and ratified 8 December 2023.
The new constitution merged the military and police, changed the Warden's title to Headmaster, and gave the Warden more power in the government. Both of the constitutions were written by the Parliament Official of New Holmshire and signed by all 5 Officials, The Headmaster, and certain citizens. On 14 December 2023 the Ramon party was formed an quickly grew. The party's goal was to cause confusion and for Nick to become Headmaster of New Eastonstein, but the party disbanded around 1 hour after creation. Around early January Alex returned and ceded his kingdom over and joined New Eastonstein.
On 30 January 2024 5 new bills were made along with the budget being raised with a 6/6 approval, which is the first time something in New Eastonstein was approved by all of Parliament. On 1 February 2024 New Eastonstein created an alliance with the Kingdom of Smlosa. The same day the F.S.A sent a Paper Airplane about 25ft in the air in its first space launch. On 7 February 2024 New Eastonstein gained access to a printer and it was proposed that the money be printed instead of handmade, the same day a Coat of Arms was made. 15 February 2024 a copyright system was proposed, and passed with a 6/6 approval.
20 and 25 February 2024 3 Ameliorates were proposed to the constitution of New Eastonstein and were passed on 1 March 2024. Between 10 March and 16 March 4 Ameliorates were proposed which would make all medical and transportation free to some extent, add new departments to the government, make discrimination illegal within the New Eastonstein government and remove business requirements and laws which were regarded by many citizens as "annoying". These Ameliorates were passed 15 March 2024. During this time Connor Credit was introduced to replace Easton Bucks temporarily until the Easton Bucks situation was sorted out, these cards were also made to serve as a form of identification for citizens.
Transport
New Eastonstein's transportation is free of charge to all citizens. New Eastonstein's main way of transportation is by walking.
Government
Early Government
The early government of New Eastonstein is very similar to the modern government but there are a few differences. The biggest difference is that the Headmaster didn't have to approve laws that Parliament approved. Another difference is that the Headmaster was referred to as the Warden and there was a Protection Agency, which was the Police, and the Transportation Agency, which controlled transportation and basically acted as the Infrastructure Department.
Headmaster
The Headmaster controls citizenship and approves laws that Parliament approves of, they also choose heads of Federal Departments and are responsible for their paycheck and the paycheck of Parliament Officials. Headmasters are elected by citizens every year on 14, October. There is no limit on how long someone can be Headmaster as long as more than 50% of citizens that voted, voted for them. The current Headmaster is Easton, who is with the Patriot Party and has been Headmaster since 14 October 2023. The Headmaster makes 5,000,000 Easton Bucks a week and is paid by Parliament.
Parliament Official
Parliament Officials are chosen by the Headmaster on their inauguration day, and they make up Parliament. Officials control their own Municipality and control taxes and handle the Headmaster's paycheck. Officials also handle collecting taxes and keeping track of data in their Municipality. Parliament proposes laws and ordinances in New Eastonstein, if more than 50% of Parliament approves it becomes legal.
Federal Departments
Federal Departments are run by the government of New Eastonstein. The head of each Department gets paid $1,000 once a week. Federal Departments include: The Department of Health and Agriculture (D.H.A) , run by Scotty. The Department of Education (D.E) , run by Donovan. The Worker's Protection Department (W.P.D) , run by Christian.
The Department of Infrastructure (D.I). The Federal Space Exploration Department (F.S.E.D), run by Nick. The Department of Energy (D.E.Y), run by Alex. The Department of Transportation (D.T), run by Hayden. The Environmental Department (E.D).
The Department of Scientific Research (D.S.R) . The Military, run by Connor.
On 12 January 2024 the budget was lower after it was becoming clear that the original budgets of some departments could not be paid in time, however on 30 January 2024 the budget was raised after 5 new bills were made, one of which being 100,000,000, which would be mainly for government use. Around March the budget was lowered after the introduction of Connor Credit. With the passing of the fourth Amliorate, 4 new organizations were added to the government, along with all the Organizations being changed to Departments.
Constitution
The modern constitution of New Eastonstein was created 7 December 2023 and is 578 words long. Changes to the constitution are allowed, but unlike laws elections are held and the citizens vote on whether to pass it or not. The first Ameliorate gives all citizens the right to free speech and protest. The second Ameliorate added Supreme Justice Holders to the government. The third Ameliorate gives all citizens the right of privacy.
The fourth Ameliorate added 4 new federal Organizations and changed the name of every one from Organization to Department. The fifth one banned discrimination within New Eastonstein's Government. The Sixth one abolished some business laws within the constitution. The seventh Ameliorate made all medical bills, excluding cosmetic surgeries, along with Transportation to some extent, free of charge to all citizens.
Military
The military of New Eastonstein was formed around early October with Connor as leader of the military. The military of New Eastonstein currently has an army of 12 soldiers. The Military also works as the police.
Flag
The New Eastonstein official flag consists of a symmetric cross of light green #43FF20 and a white #FFFFF background. The flag was designed by christian around late October 2023, the green represents Peace and the natural beauty of New Eastonstein. New Eastonstein's War Flag is the same as the Peace-time Flag but there is a green saltire (same color) along with the symmetric cross and it is outlined in black.
Political Parties
There is only 2 official active political parties in New Eastonstein and 1 former political party. The Patriot Party was formed around late November of 2023 by Christian and Easton was made party leader. The Patriot Party is the political party the Headmaster currently belongs to along with several Department Heads and Parliament Officials. On 22 February 2024 the New Eastonstein Worker's Party was formed by nick.

The Ramon Party was formed on 14 December 2023 as an attempt to overthrow the current Headmaster of New Eastonstein, but it was quickly disbanded.

Municipalities
New Eastonstein has 7 municipalities. Parliament Officials each have their own municipality. The only thing State governments control on New Eastonstein is their tax. New Holmshire and Spartain were created early October 2023 and were the first municipalities created in New Eastonstein. New Holmshire became the capitol municipality of New Eastonstein.
When the new constitution was created Spartain changed their name to Silandia. In late October 2023 the Municipality of Runswick was established along with Vemo, which became the new capitol municipality. In the middle of November 2023 Connorsey was founded and Runswick was changed to Rothenburg. In early December 2023 the original name Spartain was used again. 15 December 2023, Rothenburg's name was changed to New Westphalia and Connorsey's name was changed to Breizhton.
On 11 January 2024 the municipality of Multiverse was admitted to New Eastonstein by the Headmaster. 25 February 2024 a new municipality, North Sosadostan, was admitted to New Eastonstein.

New Eastonstein's former currency was Easton Bucks but around March it was changed to Connor credit which was not physical cash . 100 Connor Credit I equivalent to 1 USD. The symbol used is $, or the Dollar Sign. New Eastonstein's biggest income is copy paper products.
