Mugahan Third is a conservative political party from the Mugahan Rump State, that was founded in June 2021. It claims to represent the Mugahan conservative voter base, but it has repeatedly been shown to be a fringe party, as the majority support the military junta. The party has fielded a total of 2 candidates in separate Mugahan national elections, winning no seats.
Mugahan Third adopts a conservative ideology, advocating for Mugahan nationalism, the removal of the Mugahanian military junta and the instillation of the Mugahan Republic, with semi-free, democratic elections. Despite claiming to support democracy, the party's militant wing, Mugahan Vanguard, has previously hinted at establishing a Mugahan nationalist dictatorship. Mugahan Third denies this to be an objective of their party, but has not denounced these claims by their militant wing. Their second agenda is to sever diplomatic ties with the Badu Park Municipal Government, a communist regime in Annandale, and reestablish the Imperial Park Colonisation Pact, in turn strengthening ties with the Empire of Douglas Grant Park. Mugahan is Badu Park's strongest ally, and severing diplomatic ties will leave Badu Park isolated and vulnerable, which is a key goal of Mugahan Third. Mugahan Third does not claim to support military action against Badu Park, however they have previously made public statements supporting Douglas Grant Park's conflict with Badu Park.
The party is most famous for the controversial action of fielding Australian civil transport lawyer David Chinchilla in the August 2021 election, as David Chinchilla is a personal and close friend of communist micronational Japitty Cumquat, leader of the Badu Park Municipal Government, which lead to tensions within the Inner West Park Annexation Movement. Chinchilla has since retired from politics and has denounced Mugahan nationalism, despite maintaining a professional relationship with party leader Ynwunce Honsepler, in the form of patronage to Honsepler's automotive mechanics business.
History
Foundation
Mugahan Third was founded on 3 June 2021, by Mugahan politician and businessman Darnold Hunslpien, after he resigned from the Mugahan Republican Party, which is the mainstream conservative party in Mugahan. Darnold was a member of the hardline nationalist faction within the MRP known as the "Soggies" because of a previous event in which Johnston's Creek Liberation Army member Aaron Chair threw water balloons at several nationalists while they were waiting for a bus. The Soggies included fellow nationalists Paul Grublenugg and Sharon Denburinne, who would both later join Mugahan Third.
The Soggies were known for their extreme nationalist rhetoric, which for a while, was welcomed and supported by the MRP. However in May 2021, the MRP made a press statement denouncing the nationalist rhetoric of its members, after Hunslpien made a culturally insensitive comment earlier that day describing Badu Parkians as "uneducated commies" and "religious terrorists". This comment was most likely due to the increasing attacks made by Japittyist fanatical extremist group Ja-Japitty. During the press statement, MRP president Barry Wilson described Hunslpien's comment as "disgusting bigotry" and relegated Darnold to an administrative position within the party. Paul Grublenugg was also later condemned by Wilson for earlier comments made regarding Badu Parkians. Darnold was asked by senior MRP staff to make a public apology as to not hurt the MRP's political performance, to which he agreed. Darnold was driven to the Sydney Opera House by Barry Wilson where he was scheduled to make his appearance on the front steps. As Hunslpien was making his speech, he doubled down on his insensitive comment, and announced his resignation from the MRP. There was no one in the audience at the time. Two days later, Mugahan Third was founded.
Darnold made a phone call to fellow nationalist Paul Grublenugg that was tapped by Xahastanian intelligence officers, in which he asked Grublenugg to join his new party. The request was initially denied, however at some point within the following days, Paul would resign from his position within the MRP and join Mugahan Third. Paul was needed as majority leader for the party, as Darnold was disqualified from participating in political institutions after he failed a mandatory background check by Mugahan police when his "politically extreme manifesto" was uncovered, which was an entry in his diary about his disdain for Hummus McDonnell and the military junta.
July 2021 Election
On 14 July 2021, the Mugahan Rump State held an election for parliament, excluding the office of President, which "eternally belongs to Hummus McDonnell" according to the Mugahan Constitution. Hunslpien registered the party and fielded Grublenugg as their candidate. Grublenugg campaigned for three hours, before polling began. Counting concluded in the late hours of 15 July, with Grublenugg gaining 0% of the vote, losing to Phillip Von Batman of the Mugahan Democratically Elected Military Freedom Party of Martial Law and Traditional Libertarianism, which is the military junta's party. The MRP also won 0% of the vote. Darnold was appalled and, believing Paul lost due to his negative reputation, replaced him with Australian civil transport lawyer David Chinchilla, after David accidentally responded to the Craigslist post advertising the position.
David Chinchilla and the August 2021 Election
Australian civil transport lawyer David Chinchilla is heavily involved in the Inner West Park Annexation Movement, beginning after he defended Japitty Cumquat in court, facing trial for his involvement in the Badu Park War. Chinchilla is known to authorities as a nuisance and a highly unintelligent person. Despite his reputation, David was given the position of majority leader. David served for a little under a month before an emergency election was called by President McDonnell, reportedly because serving politician Phillip Von Batman insulted McDonnell's intelligence, therefore he was to be replaced. Chinchilla was initially skeptical, however Darnold threatened to burn David's favourite pair of pants, dubbed his "Sunday pants", which forced David's hand. David did not campaign, and according to election officials, he hoped voters would not support his party. The election was conducted very poorly, as voters were only given one portable toilet as their voting booth, and voter's ballot papers were visibly being destroyed in front of the voting booth after voters exited. The election was confirmed by Xahastanian intelligence to have been falsified by Phillip Von Batman, who bribed officials to miscount votes. Despite this, David received one vote (33%), after officials made a mistake and accidentally submitted a ballot with Mugahan Third as the preferred candidate. Although David received one vote, Mugahan Third still lost the election, and David resigned from the party only days later, being replaced by former MRP "Soggy" Sharon Denburinne.
Participation in the Inner West Nationalism Rally
On February 12, 2023, several right wing Inner West micronationals assembled on the steps of the NSW state parliament in protest of the NSW Government's use of force during a raid on a Badu Park Nationalist League member, and the "censorship" of their political views. Members of Mugahan Third attended including Darnold Hunslpien, along with members of other groups such as the Badu Park Nationalist League and the Patriotic Homeland Party, both of which are right wing Badu Parkian political parties. During the rally, several counter protesters, including micronational opponents and non-affiliated anti-fascist groups, arrived to oppose the nationalists. According to police reports, a nationalist struck a counter-protester with a hammer, initiating a riot between the two sides. During the riot, Hunslpien allegedly fought with a counter-protester, getting significantly wounded when he was hit in the head with a rock. Several nationalists and counter-protesters were arrested for their involvement in the riot, however Hunslpien evaded arrest and fled on foot to Martin Place train station, where he reportedly made his way back to Spindlers Park. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he remained a fugitive for two days before his apprehension on 14 February.
Arrest and Resignation of Darnold Hunslpien
Hunslpien resigned as Chairman on 15 February 2023, after he was arrested a day earlier by NSW Police for fighting with a counter-protester at the 2023 "Inner West Nationalism" rally. Hunslpien had evaded capture for two days, hiding in the area of Johnston's Creek in Hogan Park, laying in sewage water. Police found him after a distressed mother called emergency services because she had spotted a "suspicious man hiding near a playground", which was accompanied by an anonymous tipoff coming from another concerned member of the public about what they thought was a dead body in the creek. Police arrived on scene, and upon making contact with Hunslpien, he stood up and ran away through the creek. Police persued Darnold, and after a short foot chase, one of the officers tackled Hunslpien after he tried to climb out of the creek to continue evading police. Hunslpien was held without bond in police custody until his trial, during which he resigned from Mugahan Third. On February 27, Husnlpien was tried for assault and resisting arrest, and was convicted of all charges. Video evidence was shown in court of him being beaten with a rock during the protest, along with the body camera footage of his arrest. The party requested David Chinchilla represent Darnold in court, however David denied, citing conflict of interest.
Darnold Hunslpien was replaced as Party Chairman by Ynwunce Honsepler, a hardline Mugahan ultranationalist who founded and led the party's militant wing Mugahan Vanguard. Honsepler also attended the nationalist rally, but it is unknown if he was involved in the rioting.
Ideology
Mugahan Third has a unique conservative ideology, advocating for the dissolution of the military junta and a nationalist interpretation of Mugahan Republicanism. Ynwunce Honsepler has since taken the party down a more extreme path, advocating for ultranationalism and paleo-conservative economic principles.
Affiliation with the Mugahan Farmer-National Coalition
In 2022, Mugahan Third registered for a joint-ticket with the Mugahan Farmer-National Coalition. The MRP was already running in a joint-ticket with the FNC, and conflicts arose surrounding "market share" of the conservative voter base in Mugahan, and the MRP issued an ultimatum, in which Mugahan Third must be removed from the alliance, or the MRP would leave. The FNC did nothing, and the MRP deregistered their joint-ticket. MRP aligned parties also left the coalition. Mugahan Third has since pushed the FNC from their centre-right position to a hybrid far-right position under an agenda by Ynwunce to nationalise the FNC.
