Ministry of Defence (Wellmoore)
The Ministry of Defence (MOD or MoD) is the Wellmoorean Government Ministry responsible for implementing the defence policy set by HM's Government of Wellmoore, and is the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Wellmoore. The MOD also manages day-to-day running of the armed forces, contingency planning and defence procurement.

History
The Ministry of Defence was founded on the 14th of March 2020 with the foundation of HM's Government of Wellmoore when Wellmoore was a Republic. It was the only Cabinet Ministry in the Wellmoorean Republic.
Leadership
The Ministry of Defence is run by the Minister of Defence, who directs the running of the ministry.
The Minister of Defence is appointed by the Monarch or the Prime Minister of Wellmoore.
Senior Military Officers
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) is the professional head of the Wellmoorean Armed Forces and the most senior uniformed military adviser to the Minister of Defence and the Prime Minister of Wellmoore. The CDS is supported by the Vice Chief of Defence Staff (VCDS) who deputises and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the armed services aspect of the MOD.
They are joined by the professional heads of the Wellmoorean Armed Forces.
Together the Chiefs of Staff form the Chiefs of Staff Committee with responsibility for providing advice on operational military matters and the preparation and conduct of military operations.
