Micowi (/ˈmɪk.ə.waɪ/) is an unincorporated community in Southern Tinlia in Kapreburg. It is situated on the mouth of the Micowi Creek and the Tinley Creek. Currently, Micowi is pushing to be incorporated as a city.
Etymology
The name of Micowi is derived from the Micowi Creek, which in turn is named after the Miami-Illinois word, mihkoowi, which means "red thing".
History
The area that is Micowi was first discovered by Jackson I and Matthew Hughes during an expedition to explore the newly established frontier colonies. They noted the area of land for being a good crossroads between two bodies of water, and being the only flat area on the southern bank of the Tinley Creek, making it desirable for development. A trade post was founded there on 16 February 2022, but was quickly forgotten.
