In the Sun Republic, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights have developed gradually since the nation was founded in 2017. Essen City was the first major city within the Sun Republic to recognise the legality of same-sex marriage after previously being negligent with the issue. Since the open legalisation of same-sex marriage, LGBT rights have continued to be enshrined within Essen City’s code. In 2024, Neumünchen announced it would fully implement Essen City’s policies relating to LGBT rights. However, the federal government refuses to explicitly address LGBT issues, opting that all individual rights are enshrined in the nations’ constitution, regardless of sexuality.
