The term “Duskiea” typically refers to the Duskiean people. The Duskiean demographic composes three separate micronational entities: Sun Republic, Southern Sun Empire, Republic(s) of Buena, and associated territories. The Duskiean people speak a language of the same name, endulge in Duskiean cultural traditions, and enterprise within Duskiean mediums.

However, the term “Duskiea” may also denote a Pan-Nationalistic movement which envisions the consolidation of all Duskiean people into a unified ethno-state. The concept emerges from the amalgamation of Buena Republics, The Sun Republic, and The Southern Sun Empire, reflecting a shared Duskiean identity among these distinct nations. The idea of a unified Duskiean state has dictated the political outlook of the Sun Republic, especially in the year 2024. The international economic union consisting of the Southern Sun Empire and Sun Republic is known as the Duskiean Union.

Inception

The roots of a pan-nationalistic Duskiean movement trace back to the creation of the Sun Republic and Southern Sun Empire. The Treaty of Benson created a political divide between three major Duskiean states, which had previously been unified under the Duskiean Empire. As a from of irredentism, the unified Duskiea movement advocates extensively for the “recuperation of lost territories”, in reference to the Southern Sun Empire and Buena Republics. In the modern era, as of December 2023, the concept of a united Duskiea has experienced a resurgence.

Challenges

The prospect of unification between the Sun Republic and Southern Sun Empire is met with enthusiasm, yet both sides grapple with uncertainties regarding key aspects of a unified Duskiean state. One major point of contention is the leadership structure. Questions arise about which government would assume the helm of a unified state, and thus which nation would determine the political framework that would shape such a unified state. The debate extends to the selection of a capital city for a unified Duskiea.

The journey towards Duskiean unification was additionally marred by the complexities of the Duskian Civil War within the Sun Republic. This internal conflict strained relations between the Sun Republic and the Southern Sun Empire, eventually leading to their separation. The schism created lasting divisions and hindered the realization of a unified Duskiea from 2020 to 2023.

Outlook

The current discussions aim to address socio-political disparities and foster collaboration in building a cohesive nation. As the Sun Republic and Southern Sun Empire cautiously re-approach each other, the prospect of a unified Duskiea stands as a testament to the resilience of the Pan-Nationalistic movement, emphasizing the potential for a harmonious future for the diverse Duskiean people.

The Sun Republic believes that, in unification, a strong national identity among all Duskiean people can allow for the expansion of Duskiea through the micronational medium. By leveraging within the micronational medium, the Sun Republic envisions the expansion of Duskiea beyond traditional and geopolitical boundaries. This approach seeks to transcend physical borders and build a network of interconnected regions, each contributing to the broader narrative of a united Duskiean state.
