Lémarita, officially the Province of Lémarita (Ilocano: Probinsia ti Lémarita; Lémaritan: Ecnivorp fo Atiramél), is a province of Arlandica as one of the 5 provinces. It is the largest province in Arlandica by land area. Rio Santiago City is the province's administrative center.

History

It was established on April 10, 2019 by Benz Gian Arellano as a separate micronation. Initially known as the Golden Coast, Lémarita later became the Commonwealth of Lémarita, which was shortened from the Democratic People's Central Independent Commonwealth Republic of Lémarita. This micronation was ruled by a single individual and was a member of Accande Terrie Ornindo. However, the lack of a constitution led to political instability within the government.

On July 6, 2022, after joining as part of Arlandica, the borders of Lémarita were redrawn, and both internal and external developments began to occur. These changes were driven by policies imposed by King Jerold I.

Geography

Lémarita is comprised of 3 enclaves, 2 semi-exclaves, and few islands in South China Sea, Babuyan Channel, and Abulog River. The province is located in the Philippine provinces of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte. The majority of its terrain is dominated by flat lands, however, there are forested areas in Nueva Villaviciosa and Swissureyland. The highest peak is an unnamed hill (Over 90 meters from average sea level) in Nueva Villaviciosa. The longest river is Ticaowa River.

The Cagayan River basin, renowned for its expansive and fertile plains, bestows upon Lémarita an advantage in terms of agricultural potential. The basin's fertile soil, coupled with a favorable climate and water resources, creates an ideal environment for cultivating a wide array of crops, including rice, corn, vegetables, fruits, and other agricultural commodities.

People and culture

Lémarita is a province that is steeped in tradition, with a strong emphasis on family, community, and religious values. Most of Lémarita's inhabitants are Ilocano people. One of the most notable aspects of Lémaritan culture is its deep respect for family and elders. Families in the province are typically large and closely knit, with strong bonds between siblings, cousins, and extended relatives. Elder members of the family are highly respected and play a central role in decision-making and family affairs. Religion also plays a significant role in Lémaritan culture, with the majority of the population identifying as Roman Catholic.

Lémarita is also known for its delicious cuisine, which is heavily influenced by the flavors and ingredients of the Ilocano and Cagayan Valley regions.

Government

The province is governed by an appointed governor-representative.
