The Governorate of Imperial Beach is a Governorate of the Kingdom of Fontasia. Its capital is the city of Imperial Beach. Its population is 3.

Brief History

Imperial Beach was explored for the first time by Fontasians the day Lewisport was established in Lewisia, which at this time compromised of Imperial Beach as well. Imperial Beach remained an important recreational area in the colony of Lewisia since then.

On 1 March 2022, Lewisia was divided into two Governorates, the Governorate of Lewisia and the Governorate of Imperial Beach by the Kingdom of Fontasia. The Federative Republic of Zeprana briefly claimed the central part of the Governorate from late July to late August 2022. The Governorate was briefly occupied during the Fontasian invasion of Feildstone on 4 September 2022.

Government

Until the beginning of localized rule in the Kingdom of Fontasia in late 2022, the Governorate of Imperial Beach, as with all Governorates were directly controlled by the Fontasian Royal Government. In Praetorial elections, the Governorate has sided with varying political parties, notably the the Populist Party of Fontasia in Spring 2022 and the Free Fontasia Party in Fall 2022.

As of 2023, there are 5 municipalities in the Governorate of Imperial Beach.

Geography

The Governorate of Imperial Beach is located on the eastern end of the Fontasian governorates on Cape Cod, bordering the Governorate of Lewisia to the west, Nantucket Sound to the south and the United States to the north and east. Imperial Beach is known for its extensive marshlands, known as the Feildstone (or Fieldstone) Marshes, which were given that name by Zepranan claimants to the region before Fontasian annexation. Parkers River, known as the Parkora River by Fontasians divides the western and eastern halves of the Governorate. It is among the few navigable rivers in the Kingdom of Fontasia. Imperial Beach itself is a large sandy coastline, but to the east along the Parks River it becomes a small area of sand dunes. The eastern part of the Governorate is an extension of this coastline, known collectively as the Dogfish Coast.

The climate of Imperial Beach is exactly like the climate of the Governorate of Lewisia.

Culture

Imperial Beach's culture revolves around beach life characteristic of summers in the region. Lewisians, due to the Governorate's close proximity frequently travel to the Governorate, whether it be for beachgoing, boating or fishing. Imperial Beach and Lewisia are two closely intertwined Governorates.
