The name Ian Douglas Smith II is a pseudonym, inspired by former Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith. This pseudonym has caused controversy in the micronational community. His inspiration taken from Rhodesia is reflected in his personal coat of arms, with the crest being a Zimbabwe Bird.
