The Chairperson of the International Aerospace Community is the de jure leader of the intermicronational organisation. The position was established on the 15th May 2021, in the First Charter of the IAC.

History

Prior to the ratification of the IAC's charter, the organisation was de facto jointly led by the delegates for Essexia and Aenopia who founded it, Jack D and Simon Reeve respectively. However, with the ratification of the First Charter of the International Aerospace Community on the 15th May 2021, Jack assumed the position of Chairperson until the 31st May 2021 and became the inaugural Chairperson. Simon of Aenopia was supposed to take office on the 1st June 2021, but due to commitments with the CA refused the position. Jack is still the current Chairperson.

Responsibilities

According to the Charter, the Chairperson has the following responsibilities:

1. "The Chairperson shall have the following responsibilities:
   1. All responsibilities of primary members.
   2. Organising votes on applications and organisational matters.
      1. This shall include calling and ending such votes.
   3. Representing the organisation overall.
   4. Moderating the organisation’s discussions.
   5. Enforcing votes.
   6. Managing program Administrators.
   7. Keeping a record of votes and statues.
2. The Chairperson shall operate on a rotor system. Every two months, at midnight on the first of the month, a new Chairperson shall take up the position.
   1. The rotor shall move between primary members in order of the date of entry of their member-state.
   2. At the end of the rotor, the cycle shall begin again at the beginning.
   3. Where new members join, they shall be added to the rotor of the next cycle."
