The Gronean Empire, sometimes known as Gronea, is a self-delclared sovereign state commonly known as a micronation by external observers, located within the United Kingdom. Gronea is a federal semi-constitutional monarchy with the Emperor being the federal monarch. Gronea has one official language which is English. The empire has six states each with their own identities, sub-national monarchs and governments.
Gronea was established on 6 September 2023.
History
The Gronean Empire was established on 6 September 2023 by Emperor Colin I. Inspiration for the nation came heavily from the German Empire and so was established with a political system and constitution very much influenced by such.
The constitution was written and officially ratified also on 6 September 2023 and states being established alongside its writing.
The imperial armed forces were officially founded on 7 September 2023.
The flag was designed by Colin, and adopted on 10 September 2023 - being inspired by the imperial German flag and the flag of Sealand, and the national motto was adopted on 18 September 2023 both adding to national culture.
Since then, the development of the empire has been continuous.
Government and Politics
Gronea is a federal semi-constitutional monarchy with an emperor as head of state and a chancellor as head of government. Parliament serves as the national legislature and federated states are permitted to establish their own sub-national parliaments and governments.
Imperial Monarch
The imperial monarchy of Gronea serves as the executive hereditary head of state of the empire. The imperial monarch is styled as "His Imperial and Royal Majesty the Emperor" or "Her Imperial and Royal Majesty the Empress" depending on the reigning monarch.
The imperial monarch is always also the monarch of the Kingdom of Bensia - Gronea's largest state, with it being a constitutional requirement that the imperial monarch serves as the holder of both monarchies.
The imperial monarch's powers include calling and dissolving parliament, appointing and dismissing the chancellor and the cabinet, commander-in-chief of the imperial armed forces and promulgating or vetoing imperial legislation. The imperial monarch also appoints justices to the imperial supreme court.
The current emperor is Colin I, the founding father of the empire.
Chancellory
The Chancellor of Gronea serves as the empire's head of government. They are appointed by and serves at the discretion of the emperor.
They lead the government, chair the cabinet and nominate its ministers. After the emperor, the chancellor is the highest federal official in the empire and is the highest non-royal political office within the empire.
The chancellor also chairs the Imperial Senate and is conventionally a member of the House of Representatives or Prime Minister of Bensia.
The chancellor is aided in their duties by a vice chancellor.
Parliament
The Parliament of Gronea is the supreme federal legislative body of the empire. It is bicameral, consisting of the Imperial Senate and House of Representatives.
The Imperial Senate sits as the upper house. It consists of appointed representatives from each state, appointed to the Imperial Senate by their state governments. The constitution defines how many seats in the imperial senate each state has, with each state being entitled to at least one Imperial Senator. The Chancellor of the Empire acts as president of and the emperor's representative in the Imperial Senate.
The House of Representatives serves as the lower house of parliament. It is elected. Members of the house represent the interests of the empire and its people more generally. The central government of the empire is conventionally normally appointed from the house. The Speaker of the House presides over the house.
Military
The Gronean Imperial Armed Forces make up the military and defence forces of the empire. It consists of the Gronean Imperial Army, Gronean Imperial Navy and Gronean Imperial Air Force.
The emperor sits as commander-in-chief of the armed forces and as the supreme military authority of the empire. The emperor can command the armed forces and commissions all its officers.
The central government's Ministry of Defence also outlines defence policy including that concerning the armed forces.
Administrative Divisions
The Gronean Empire is divided into a number of states, each with their own subnational monarch. Subnational monarchical titles range from kingdom tier to duchy tier.
Currently Gronea consists of six states with the constitution allowing for the establishment of more by imperial legislation.

Geography
Currently Gronea claims Ramsey Island off the coast of Wales. So far, the national land claims have not been officially divided between the states of the empire but the central government intends to divide the territory, and wishes to give the majority of the land to the kingdoms of the empire.
