The Republic of Mercury, also simply known as just Mercury, is an English-speaking micronation located on the continent of Keltia[1] of northeastern-Micras. Mercury covers about 10% of northeast Keltia, and shares borders with the Kingdom of Moorland to the southwest, and the Kingdom of Normark to the west. Mercury is the successor state of the Kingdom of Stigistan, the Kingdom of Barrington, and the Republic of Wyke. Mercury has been peacefully gaining land ever since their joining of the Micras Cartography Society in January 2010. Due to Mercury's isolated position and small size, the republic has high-levels of internal development, and its infrastructure is said to be one of the best on Micras. It also created a lot of micronational-relations, and became a founder of the Xäiville Convention with other micronations.

History
Stigistan, Barrington, and Wyke
On 17 October 2008 Joe Foxon founded the Kingdom of Stigistan. It suddenly started to develop very quickly, and became the founding member of the Grand Unified Micronational. On 13 January 2010 Stigistan changed its name to the Kingdom of Barrington. At the time of the Kingdom of Barrington, it first claimed land on Micras. It developed even more, renamed it to the Republic of Wyke, and in early 2011, finally got the name Mercury.
Self-development, Colonization
After a lot of chaos, Mercury was finally able to self-develop. In just six months, Mercury grew the cities of Taylor and May. Mercury, with Zealandia, created the National Security Centre. Mercury claimed Deacon and Tow Law, then Nova England.[2][3] In an attempt to strengthen relations with North Antarctica, Mercury split the unclaimed island of Passio-Corum between them, Lusa fell to Mercurian hands, and North Antarctica and Qavaqaqqaqqaniitqeqertaq became Mercury's ninth and tenth states. Mercury rearranged some colonies, and Mercury also developed the Norton Calendar.
Geography
Mercury is located between the latitudes 58° and 71° N and the longitudes 128° and 143° E. The total land mass is 1,274,112km2 , similar to that of Peru. Fjords dominate the northwest coast, and the coastal baseline measures 5,352km including fjords. (although the coastline stretches 17,955km.) Mercury's border with Nova England measures 1,128km, and a 336km border with New Sussex. To the southeast Mercury borders Taylor Bay, to the north and east is the Great Western Sea,[4] and Harlby Bay to the west. Mercury is said to have an subpolar oceanic climate, and it is usually 2°C in the winter and the Nova England border's humid climate has −4°C in the winter and 18°C in the summer.
