Keithieopia IPA: /kiːθiθiˈoʊpi.ə/, officially the Dominion of Keithieopia, is a sovereign state operating within a self-proclamed extraterritorial territory located in North America, specifically Maryland, United States. It is classified as a micronation by most external observers. The nation declared its independence on 3 January 2002.
The Dominion is a constitutional monarchy where the Emperor's power is limited by the constitution. The Emperor does not derive their power from a God but from the people. The National Assembly is the legislative branch of the government and the High Court is the judicial branch.
History
First an autocracy, the founding principles of the nation were developed mid-November 2002 on Jennifer Government: NationStates (the nation was considered a "Father Knows Best State"). The name Keithieopia was selected and a national flag was created. Keith styled himself as a Benevolent Dictator at this point in time.
Challenging Keith offline, founding fathers Allen Price and Justin Sloan encouraged Keith to form a proper code of laws for the nation. On January 3rd, 2002, Keith adopted such, officially and formally forming Keithieopia.
Empire Begins
On July 30th 2006, Keith formed the Empire of Keithieopia, after the nation outlived several smaller nations formed at Keith's school. The Empire at this point was an absolute monarchy with a very limited constitution.
Second Constitution
In 2010, As the Realm's constitution was amended and the code of laws developed, a set of fundamental rights emerged. The Empire was rebranded as a semi-constitutional monarchy named the Keithieopian Realm, due to the sparseness of its land claims: one in Virginia and one in Maryland.
Tragedy struck when the computer that housed the national documents was damaged in transit on route to the Maryland territory, resulting in a loss of the original constitution.
Current Era
On January 27th, 2021 with the signing of the current third constitution, the Realm became the Dominion of Keithieopia and a constitutional monarchy, limiting the Emperor's powers.
The nation acquired a new domain name, joined Microwiki, and started forming diplomatic ties in late December 2022.
Administrative regions
The Dominion of Keithieopia breaks its territory into administrative regions called Shires. Shires may be further subdivided into Bailiwicks.

Demographics
The Dominion of Keithieopia's population was 6 in 2022. Individuals who live in the Dominion of Keithieopia, residents or citizens, are called Keithieopians.
Residency is open to everyone but political functions within Keithieopia are limited to citizens. Citizenship is gained upon completion of two years of military or civil service or at the prerogative of the Emperor.
Geography
Keithieopia is located in Northern America and is completely surrounded by the United States, and entirely within the state of Maryland. Its territory extends into Battle Creek and St. Leonard Creek, part of the Patuxent River as well as Plum Point Creek, off the Chesapeake Bay.
The Isles
The Dominion's territory includes Ellen Isle, the Isle of Mar, and the Isle of Jose, named after HIH Empress Ellen, THR Princess Margaret, and Princess Josephine respectively. The Princess' isles were annexed into the Dominion on 22 December 2022[1] and the Empress' on 22 December 2022[2]
Palaces
The Dominion's territory also includes two plots of land, the Royal Palace in the Twin Beaches and Duke Allen and Duchess Jane's palace in Huntingtown.
Climate
Keithieopia's climate is the same as Southern Maryland's climate. It is classified as humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa), with hot and humid summers and a cool to cold winters.

The Dominion of Keithieopia is geographically located in the Eastern Time Zone. By law, the Dominion does not recognize daylight savings[4].
Time
Legal time in Keithieopia uses a form of decimal time based on the day of the year and the number of seconds in a day[5].
Dates
The Dominion uses a special calendar consisting of twelve months of thirty days each. At the end of the calendar is a special week called "Year Week" which is used to align the calendar to that of the Gregorian calendar and account for leap years[6].

Holidays
Keithieopia is a multi-ethnic and diverse community. Although the National Assembly has passed law prohibiting secular holidays from being officially recognized[7], the celebration of such is protected under the Constitution.

Foreign Relations
Any country who diplomatically recognizes the Dominion is automatically recognized under Keithieopian law[8]. Furthermore, the Dominion recognizes the following non-reciprocating nations: all United Nation countries, the Principality of Sealand, the Republic of Molossia, and Westarctica.
