The Continental Government of the United Federation, commonly the Continental Government of Aumarea, is the former government of the United Federation of Aumarea. The government had little separation of powers with the executive sitting in the legislative branch. The government was dissolved on 12 March 2023.
History
The continental government was established on 3 March 2023 with the foundation of Aumarea. It acted as a caretaker government while the Constitution of Aumarea was being developed. The government permanently dissolved on 12 March 2023 after the constitution was ratified and the continental congress was dissolved.
Role
The continental government primarily acted as a caretaker government. It acted primarily to maintain the union and provide basic necessities for citizens - primarily defence and preserving basic rights for citizens. It also oversaw the continental congress and contributed to constitutional development.
Leadership
The head of government was the President of the Continental Congress who was aided by a Continental Vice President. They presided over the government and the continental congress.
Appointment
The continental government was appointed and served at the continental congress's pleasure and discretion.
