The Chief Ranger of the United Federation, commonly the Chief Ranger of Aumarea or Chief Ranger of the National Park Service, is an executive in the National Park Service. They oversee the uniformed ranger staff in the park service and act an as advisor to the service's director. The chief ranger serves at the president's pleasure and work closely with the NPS Director and Department of Internal Affairs.

History

The office of Chief Ranger is one of the oldest cultural offices in Aumarea. It was established on 22 May 2023 when the National Park Service was given a more formal structure.

Role

The chief ranger's duties includes but are not limited to:

  • Advising the NPS Director
  • Overseeing Operations of Uniformed NPS Staff
  • Advising the Internal Affairs Minister
  • Confirming Regional Chief Rangers
  • Overseeing Some Parks Directly

Deputies

Due to the structure of the uniformed staff in the national park service, the Chief Ranger is aided by two Deputy Chief Rangers. One Deputy Chief Ranger advises and aids on the side of the Law Enforcement Rangers and the other Deputy Chief Ranger advises and aids on the side go the Interpreter Rangers.

Appointment

The Chief Ranger, as a federal office, is appointed by the President of the United Federation. Candidates for the office are nominated by the Director of the National Park Service. Appointees are confirmed by the United Federation Senate before taking office.
