Barnland, officially the Second Incarnation of Barnland as an Imperial State (also known as the Empire of Barnland) was a state in a field and house in County Leitrim. The only monarch was Emperor Thomas I, known in Roscamistan as Marshal Thomas Jacobs, who crowned himself on 27 November 2021. Barnland was also a member of the West Ireland Pact, made up of Roscamistan, Barnland, Ballinfoyleburg and the East Galwegian Socialist Republic, which is dedicated to protecting micronationalism in the west of Ireland.
History
The Empire was founded on the 25 November 2021 as the personal realm of Thomas Jacobs to have after his inevitable retirement from Roscami politics. He made it a semi-constitutional monarchy. It became a serious venture in February 2022 when Jan da Remington, an old online friend of Thomas Jacobs’s, became the Head of the Government.
Barnland would be dissolved on 18 October 2022 after a long extended period of inactivity and the erosion of any culture in the empire.
Government
The Empire was an semi-constitutional monarchy with the monarch being head of state and of executive, and a separate head of government. The Minister-President was the head of government of the Empire and served at the pleasure of the Monarch, the last Minister-President was Jan da Remington, who replaced Acting Minister-President Xen on 17 February 2022, and was removed 10 months later when Barnland dissolved.
Military
The Empire’s military was the Imperial Barnlandar Forces, under the Monarch who is the Commander in Chief.
Culture
The culture was Imperialist-Irish, limited to the Empire. The Monarch was the champion of Barnlandar culture, serving for life.
Laws
The laws were created by proposing bills in either chambers of the Parliament, the legislature of the nation. The Emperor had veto power and used it necessary or in crisis. The Emperor also appointed the peers of the upper house known as the House of Lords, with all seats being hereditary.
