The United Federation Navy (UFN) is the primary maritime service branch of the United Federation Armed Forces.
The UFN is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defence. The highest-ranking military officer in the navy is the Chief of Naval Staff, who exercises supervision and command over naval units and serves on the Chiefs of Staff Committee. The Chief of Naval Staff is appointed by the President of the United Federation with the advice and consent of the Senate.
The navy ranks third in the military order of precedence in Aumarea.
History
The UFN is the third oldest Aumarean military branch. It was established on 19 March 2023 and ranks third in the military order of precedence.
Mission
The mission of the UF Navy is to create, train and equip combat ready naval forces to win wars and provide national security.
As the primary seaborne branch of the military the navy has a few specific areas of responsibility:
- Preparation of War-Ready Naval Forces
- Maintenance of Naval Aviation
- Development of Organisation and Equipment for Naval Use
Organisation
The UF Navy falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defence. The most senior naval officer is the Chief of Naval Staff, who is a four-star admiral. They are also a member of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Shore Establishments
The navy can establish and maintain shore establishments to support the mission of the navy's fleet through the use of land facilities.
Personnel
The personnel of the United Federation Navy are split into two classes - enlisted sailors and commissioned officers.
The lowest naval rank is Seaman Apprentice and the highest rank being titled Admiral. However, in exceptional circumstances the rank of Fleet Admiral can be awarded.
