It caused a massive increase of votes for the Jackobite party, which advocates for the abdication of Max I to Prince Jack and Princess Lisa. A parliamentary vote on the issue occurred a day later, which resulted in a draw. A referendum was planned for the 19 March 2021 but allegations of voter fraud brought on by George Heywood, Dictator MP for Bertia, resulted in the referendum being cancelled.
