The 2015 Open Challenge Cup Sponsored by the M-League will be the first installment of M-League founded open football competition. The competition will feature only the six M-League teams, despite promotion of the competition to encourage teams outside of the M-League, encouraging that there was no obligation to join the M-League after participating in the competition.

Being the only two teams not ranked based on 2014 league positions, CD Vertigo and FC Los Toros enter at the first qualifying round, with CD Vertigo being place at home in the first leg, Los Toros the second. Despite being a full league member Royal City will enter the competition in the second qualifying round, having finished last in 2014 in the M-League and will play the winner of the the previous round, this is done to ensure that only 4 teams remain in the first round proper, currently involving the top 3 teams in the 2014 M-League season, Cardinals MFC, Vyktory Dragons VFC and Woking Dales MFC. The winners of the first round proper will then meet in the final.

The competition was cancelled after only the First Qualifying Round was played after the closure of the EA Sports FIFA World servers, Los Toros were intended to play Royal City in the Second Qualifying Round prior to this announcement.

Broadcasting rights

Like with the M-League broadcasting rights, the broadcaster is based on the teams competing with the home team given priority broadcasting, unless they are unable to broadcast. Because the Open Challenge Cup is not covered by the Dale News Agency's title broadcasting rights when agreed with the M-League, DNA TV is not given sole, or enhanced broadcasting rights over the competition or its final, the broadcasting will be determined on a round-by-round basis.
