The Reino Unido do Algarve (English: United Kingdom of Algarve) also commonly known as the UKAL is a micronation founded on December 19 2018 in by Gabriel Windsor (today Gabriel I) and other Ribatejanos and Algarvians revolted with a situation of the country. Is a sovereign state located mostly on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. It was one of the few Portuguese-speaking micronations. The capital and the countries largest city is Faro.
It was a member of the Liga das Micronações and Confederação de Polo Micronacional.
History
The history of Algarve began in 2018, the year of its foundation, from the reinstitution of the monarchy as a form of government and the renewal of the house of House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (at the time, represented by BHouse of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha), in the person of Gabriel Windsor, ex-Ribatejano, who immediately became King of Algarve.
Government and politics
Algarve is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy, where multi-party rule prevails. The King, in addition to the protocol powers, appoints, according to the Algarvian Constitution, the Prime Minister and the Chancellor.
Geography and climate
The territory of Algarve extends throughout the historical territory at the height of 1822, beyond Morocco, except Brazil.
Culture
Algarve has a diverse culture, based directly on the castrense, Galician / Celtic, Arab, Gaucho and Indian cultures.
Sports
Polo and Hunting
The national governing body of Polo in UKAL is the Real Federação Portuguesa de Polo e Caça.
In December 2018 UKAL National Polo Team participated in the first Polo World Cup organized by Confederação de Polo Micronacional and the Portuguese-speaking countries. The country reached the finals and is now the World Champion of Polo.
