The Town of Gleichenberg was founded on April 8, 2018 by the government of the Principality of Phokland. The city was gained as the result of a war between Phokland and Mangolia. The Principality of Gleichenberg acted as a client-state of Phokland and was primarily used as a military base for the Phoklandian Coast Guard. In recent times however, the territory has changed borders and became an incorporated city within the now Phoklandian Free State and (while self governing) is a part of the Homeland Province. The present territorial claims of the city reside within the home of it's mayor, Sean Griffith.
History
Since its start in 2018, Gleichenberg has had a rather tumultuous history.

On September 19, 2018, H.L. Prince Charles I of Phokland disbanded the gGeichenbergian government and officially dissolved the state following a financial crash that left the phoklandian government unable to pay for the small principality. Regardless, the title of Prince/Princess of Gleichenberg continued to be used as a courtesy title for the heir apparent to the Phoklandian Crown until the dissolution of the monarchy in January of 2020.
Restoration
In April of 2019, the Tsardom of Phokland restarted the principality as a territory of the state, this sovereignty was eventually transferred to the new Phoklandian Free State upon the merger of Navārdia and Phokland in late 2019.
