Merge
@Luxor: I agree with merging, but should the new article be located at MicroWiki sector or MicroWiki community? Judging by the tag I presume you mean the latter, but would like clarification. Thanks, ★ Luna ♥︎ (talk | edits) 16:34, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Merge 2.0
This article appears to be a worse version of History of the MicroWiki community; I propose that it be merged into that article; or, if it has nothing new to offer it, I propose that it be deleted. /swέna/

- @Swena: it would take a lot of effort but I am sure it can be expanded to talk about the differences between the MicroWiki sector versus other sectors, such as its use of talk pages and MW@D, classical micropatriology and influential MicroWiki nations or something. - I agree that that's what it should be. Its current contents, though, need to be merged into History of the MicroWiki community or wiped. Maybe you could write a quick into for a new MicroWiki sector article? It could be expanded into something more-substantial in the future.

💬 05:28, 20 August 2024 (UTC)- Sure thing, radical centrist. Template:ZedSig (talk ❧ contribs) at 05:31, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
- Haha. I've used that descriptor for over a decade but always stayed in the standard Centrists category because there wasn't one for this specific subtype. There are a lot of missing subcategories in Category:People by ideology... but that's a matter for another talk page.

💬 05:33, 20 August 2024 (UTC)- @Swena: Honestly, in retrospect, maybe it should be merged.. I bet there is more to say but I just do not know what exactly—the overview I just added can justifiably be added to the MW history article as a definition for its scope. My main dilemma is this: stuff that this article should have, say, a list of notable MicroWiki sector micronations and YAMOs, is going to get outdated very quickly (ignoring the subjective entries argument, which honestly I do not subscribe to). And stuff like summits or events in the MicroWiki sector (which could theoretically be their own sections here) are already mentioned in the history article anyways. My second problem is, without any coverage, there is just not much to write about. A demography on the MW sector and how it relates/differentiates itself with other sectors would be so fascinating but would require data from a survey.. no micronational survey like that has yet to be conducted. Best I could do is write about the MicroWiki editor but obviously that would be disingenuous to the actual definition of the 'MicroWiki sector', which includes micro and mnationalists who do not even edit MW per se. Also, is a radical apolitical a thing? Template:ZedSig (talk ❧ contribs) at 05:58, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
- If you ask Jreg, yes.
- Thank you for giving this so much thought.
- Do you want to do the merging? Or do you think the History article already has all of this? (I'm guessing it does, but you as its author know that article better than I do.)

💬 06:26, 20 August 2024 (UTC)- Yes – I copy-pasted the § Overview section there. This article can be a redirect to the latter article so as to not mass-create any red links. :) Template:ZedSig (talk ❧ contribs) at 06:38, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
