The Secretary of State Admissions, sometimes known as the State Admissions Secretary, is a junior minister in the cabinet of the United Federation. They report to the Minister of Union Affairs and are a member of the Department of Union Affairs.
Role
The secretary has the overall remit for the Office of State Admissions - a sub-office in the Department of Union Affairs. They are responsible for working with the president, and minister of union affairs, on policy concerning the admission of states to the union, as well as actual admission of states into the union. They also advise both the president and union affairs minister on qualifications for statehood as well as overseeing the state admissions process alongside congress.
The state admissions secretary works closely with congress as both the executive and legislature have to consent for new states to be admitted to the union.
Appointment
The secretary is appointed by the President of Aumarea. The president appoints based on nominations from the Union Affairs Minister and with the senate's advice and consent.
