MicroMedia

Rush was a website created by Joshua Wilken. Made back in 2020, Wilken had waited for the right time to release his platform. During this time, MicroMedia had released and failed. In July, Wilken pitched the idea to use MicroMedia as a base for a redesign of the platform and to release it with ACBIC behind it to Charles Madgett. Madgett agreed but did not purchase more than 49.9% holding in Rush to ensure he could not be listed as the owner. It was later shut down in 2022, due to inactivity on the website.

Verification

There were two main types of verification on Rush, those being government badges and the verification badge.

Government Badges

There are three main types of government badges on MicroMedia, as these are the lowest form of verification.

Brown badges display that you are an active micronational politician in a municipal level of government, while silver badges are for those involved in the state level of government. Silver badges will display the name of your state. Gold badges are the highest form of badge verification, where users can be verified that they are in a federal level of government in a micronation.

Verification Badge

The verification badge is the highest form of verification. There are guidelines to receiving a verification badge.

Guidelines to being Verified:

Individuals must be notable, well-known, and active. Non individuals must be notable and a verifiable news source or company.

Only 6 users have received a verification badge, being @rush, @charles, @tpc, @colonelshamrock, @lucithesatanist and @realterrymckeen. @rush automatically received the badge when the system was implemented due to it being the platform's official profile. @tpc received it shortly after, while there were no guidelines and due to it being a notable company. Those afterwards had to verify through the proper verification process.

Administration Badge

This is the highest form of verification. Only community moderators and community admins can get this badge.

You can only get this badge by becoming a member of staff. You can only have one account with this badge per staff member. If a staff member loses their previous account and needs another, the badge will be redistributed.

Only 1 user has received this badge so far, being @rush, the official platform's profile to receive it.

Features

Direct Messaging and Following

Users can directly message with other users in a one-on-one area, however direct messaging with more than one user is not yet possible. Users can also follow one another. The highest user to have most followers is @jeanjeannienne, with 26 total followers.

Groups

Users can create groups, which can be private, secret, or public. Public groups let anyone join and see. Private groups are submission only, meaning you must request to join. Secret groups are invite only, and only members can view their posts (besides admins and mods).

Shorts and 'Give Me A Rush!'

On 6 July 2022, the official Rush profile made a group titled 'Give Me A Rush!,' where new users would automatically be added to it. The purpose of the group is to allow users to send small files, usually short video clips - or shorts - and send them to the group with a caption.

Rush Rewind

Rush Rewind is an upcoming feature where the official Rush profile will upload a video to Rush, as well as YouTube and other platforms, detailing the progress of the site's users and content. It will be made with help from staff as they collaborate with popular users to discuss new possible features and discussing their favorite moments on Rush.
