MicroMedia is a website created by Charles Madgett. It was initially created back in December 2020 with the purpose of being the home page of the delayed and unreleased BrowserMN, however it released later in January 2021 as it's own site for unrelated reasons. It has multiple features such as being used as a forum to exchange micronational ideas, profiles, following, private messages, posting questions, polls, and more. You can receive badges based on your type of micronational journey perse and users can be verified based on a set of guidelines. It was shut down in mid 2021 for lack of activity. A successor was later released in the form of Rush.

Types of Verification ; Administration

There are multiple types of verification on MicroMedia, such as badges and the verification badge. There are also of course admins on this site who moderate all behavior.

Badges

There are three main types of badges on MicroMedia, as these are the lowest form of verification.

Brown badges display that you are an active micronational politician, while silver badges are for micronational leaders only. Silver badges will display the name of your nation. Gold badges are the highest form of badge verification, where users can be verified that they are in a micronational organization with at least two member states.

This is the example of a userpage with all forms of verification. This userpage belongs to @charles. @charles has the gold badge, the verified badge, and the community admin badge.

Verification Badge

The verification badge is the highest non-administrative form of verification. There are guidelines to receiving a verification badge.

Guidelines or Rules to being Verified:

1. Have a bronze badge minimum.

2. Use this site frequently.

3. Preferred not to start flame wars in any threads.

4. Have a MicroWiki page.

Only 3 users have received a verification badge, being @charles, @christoph_billung, and @alaria. @charles automatically received the badge when the system was implemented due to him being the site's creator, @christoph_billung received it shortly after, while there were no guidelines. @alaria received it by requesting such after guidelines were posted and it was found he met all requirements.

Administration Badge

This is the highest form of verification. Only community moderators and community admins can get this badge.

You can only get this badge by becoming a member of staff. You can only have one account with this badge per staff member. If a staff member loses their previous account and needs another, the badge will be redistributed.

Only 1 user has received this badge so far, being @charles, the owner of the site to receive it.

Features

Direct Messaging and Following

This is an example of the messages page.

Users can directly message with other users in a one-on-one area, however direct messaging with more than one user is not yet possible. Users can also follow one another. The highest user to have most followers is @christoph_billung, with 5 total followers.

Groups and Posts

Users can create groups, which can be private, secret, or public. Public groups let anyone join and see. Private groups are submission only, meaning you must request to join. Secret groups are invite only, and only members can view their posts (besides admins and mods). There are many separate types of posts, such as a regular post, article, discussion, or question. Discussions can be used as thread starters, while articles must be posted with the #news tag. Questions can be used as polls or short answer questions. Then you have your regular posts.
