The Republic of Lanthai (Thai: สาธารณรัฐลันไทย, pronounced: [sǎːtʰaːranarát.lantʰaj]) is a fictional micronation located in Thailand, established by Sir Kevin Kyleson.

History

Establishment

In 17 April 2022, Kevin Kyleson (Current president) has an idea of creating his own nation but, he chosen it to be fictional and imaginary. He brought his friend, Vincent Montaganti (Future Vice President) to help him and improve the nation, which he did.

Etymology

The name originated from the word "ลาน" (lit: Courtyard) and "ไทย" (lit: Thai). As time passes by, "ลาน" is usually mispronounced as "ลัน" (Pronunciation: lan).

The formation of Provinces

After the establishment of Lanthai, people began to realise that the country as no subdivisions. At the time, the country uses the de jure form of subdivision, municipalities; Which takes in control of the subdivision role, temporarily. The Vice president, Vincent Montaganti, has taken notice of the situation. He proposed the idea of using the same subdivision as Thailand's, provinces. A vote was held and the results for "Yes" won.

This event took place on 17 April 2022.
