Ravenian Crisis
The Ravenian Crisis was a diplomatic and geopolitical conflict that commenced on March 4, 2023, when the Republic of Balzi discovered the newly established micronation located in Quezon City, near Mainland Balzi. The proximity of Ravenia raised concerns within Balzi regarding national security. The situation escalated further on March 10, 2023, when Monzen, a rival micronation to Balzi due to ideological differences, also established diplomatic channels with Ravenia, intensifying the pre-existing tensions between Balzi and Monzen.

Ravenia, a newly emerged micronation within the Philippine Micronational Community in early 2023, drew interest from both Balzi and Monzen. Each sought to bring Ravenia into their respective spheres of influence: Balzi with its Leguean Sphere and Monzen with its Muskobina Sphere. Balzi viewed Monzen’s diplomatic actions as a direct threat to its sovereignty, while Monzen sought to undermine Balzi’s influence in the region. Diplomatic efforts and communications were the primary methods employed by both sides in their attempt to gain Ravenia’s alignment.
The Crisis
The crisis unfolded primarily through diplomatic communications, with both Balzi and Monzen attempting to secure Ravenia’s allegiance. Balzi, being the first to discover Ravenia, warned the micronation against engaging with Monzen, characterizing Monzen as a communist entity and a destabilizing force. Ravenia, taking heed of these warnings, grew increasingly cautious of Monzen’s intentions and began to align with Balzi.
On March 10, 2024, Monzen, led by Matthew De Villa, established diplomatic channels with Ravenia, exacerbating the conflict. During communications between Raven, the Leader of Ravenia, and Matthew De Villa, Matthew claimed to have composed the Accande Terrie Ornindo Hymn. However, intelligence provided by Ravenia and later shared with Balzi revealed that this claim was false. The suggestion for the hymn’s melody, derived from the Italian socialist song “Bandiera Rossa,” was originally suggested by Benz Gian Arellano in 2021. Balzian President Carl Miguel Salgado Victa responded to this information by describing Matthew De Villa as “an absolute liar.”
In response to Monzen’s advances, Balzi offered Ravenia membership in the Accande Terrie Ornindo, proposing to make Ravenia an unofficial trust territory of the Accande Terrie Ornindo to protect it from Monzenian and Muskobina influence. President Victa reassured Ravenia of Balzi’s support, stating,
"You do not have to worry. Be strong, Raven. The Accande Terrie Ornindo and the Republic of Balzi are on your side," President Victa reassured Ravenia.
and advised,
"Balzi and the ATO Countries will remain stand, strong, and firm. Yang si Matthew, nagpapakalat ng influence kaya ang payo ko nalang ay iwasan" (Matthew is spreading influence, so my advice is to avoid him)," President Carl Miguel Salgado Victa, Republic of Balzi
Aftermath
The Ravenian Crisis concluded on April 8, 2024, when Monzen formally surrendered by ceasing its efforts to influence Ravenia, acknowledging Balzian dominance in the region, resulting in a Balzian victory. Following the resolution, Ravenia commemorated its alliance with Balzi by creating a poster celebrating the Balzian-Ravenian friendship.
Since aligning with Balzi, Ravenia has become a notable Pro-Balzian Country and one of the great examples of the Balzianified Countries. Ravenia adopted Ravguean, a mix of Balzian and local languages as its official language and incorporated Balzian traditions, including the La Addrecia dos Toutecia a Nasyon (Balzian version of the State of the Nation Address), despite being a monarchy under the Hesminian Commonwealth.
Ravenia is also a member of the Great Leguean Sphere Organization, an alliance of nations with close ties to Balzi. Although Balzi and Ravenia have yet to establish formal diplomatic relations, Balzi remains open to the possibility of Ravenia joining its sovereignty as a region through the Mass Territorial and Regional Integration Convention, given Ravenia’s alignment with Balzi and proximity to Mainland Balzi. Ravenia’s response to this offer remains uncertain.
