The Quintavelhense Line (Portuguese: Linha quintavelhense; symbol: £$) is the official currency unit of Quinta Velha. The National Reserve is responsible for issuing the currency. The currency was officially adopted on 11 October 2019.

The National Reserve only issued a series of prints of the Line, designed and officially launched in October 2022 in commemoration of the three years since the creation of the currency, which until then was only used as a digital asset and never materialized as a banknote. The Line's first banknotes were issued in denominations of 5£$, 10£$, 20£$, 50£$ and 100£$. Coins have not yet been minted, but there are plans to mint the values of 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, 1£$ and 2£$.

The Quintavelhense Line is backed by the value of the Brazilian cruzado on 01 October 2019 converted to the Brazilian Real. 1£$ is equivalent to R$0.0003663 as October 2022.

Despite being the official currency of Quinta Velha and circulate along the Brazilian Real, a third currency circulate freely in Quinta Velha, the micronational Conferential Doubloon, issued by the Conference of Santiago that intended to be a unifying currency for all projects within the organization.

Background

Brazilian Real

From its foundation until October 2019, the Kingdom of Quinta Velha had no official currency in circulation and all financial transactions were carried out in Brazilian Real and using Brazilian banks. The National Government felt the need to develop and circulate an official currency to guarantee the financial sovereignty of Quinta Velha.

On 11 October 2019, King Thomas I issued the decree that created the National Economic System, defining the authorities of the National Financial System and establishing the new currency of Quinta Velha, the Line.
