Poleglass Democratic Republic
Poleglass, known formally as the Poleglass Democratic Republic or also as the Republic of Poleglass, is a landlocked micronation on the island of Ireland in Europe. It gained independence from Northen Ireland on 30 June 2021.

Etymology
The name Poleglass simply comes form the Belfast City Council Electral Ward of the same name. The ward was named after the ancient Poleglass Townland
History
Pre Micronation
Poleglass was once an ancient townland. The area has been inhabited for hundreds of years. A Celtic roundhouse was found in the area. An unknown ruined historical site known as "Span" is located in the North [2]
Founding
The Poleglass Democratic Republic was founded on 30 June 2021 as the "Republic of Poleglass". Its land area only included Poleglass City and Twinbrook. At this point it was unified with the United Republic of Twinbrook
Confederate States of Colin Membership
On the 11 January 2022 the Confederate States of Colin (CSOC) was formed, and Poleglass opted to join. This unity was shortlived as it left again a week later. Tensions between Poleglass and the CSOC where tense for a while, but after the Glenkeen Agreement, an agreement which traded the townland of Glenkeen in exchange for the rest of Colin Glen Forest Park, the nations became freinds
Lisburn and Castlereagh Invasion
In January 2022, Poleglass, along side the CSOC and former Southern Twinbrook, was invaded and occupied by the Commonwealth of Lisburn and Castlereagh. The occupation lasted 2 days when Lisburn agreed to pull out of the nations
Modern Day Poleglass
Poleglass was renamed to the Poleglass Democratic Republic in March 2022. In June that same year, after the collapse of the CSOC and its successor the Irish Council, Glenkeen was granted to Poleglass. It was integrated into Poleglass City.
Right-Wing Rhetoric
Throughout August and October of 2023 a new right wing political party 'Poleglass Nationalist Party' has gained some attraction and the votes of Poleglassians. The movement calls for stricter border policies and a must hard line approach to events.

Poleglass is a democratic socialist republic. The Democracy of Cloona House is the parliament of the nation. Poleglass is ran by a president, in this case President Hannaway

Political Movements
For the most part, citizens are happy with how the nation is run. There is, however, a small communist movement. There is also a Colin Reunification movement, however it is pretty much dead after the split of the Confederate States of Colin.
Foreign relations
Poleglass is great friends with the Democratic Socialist Republic of Beechmount and the Federated States of Naas. The nation used to be freinds with Twinbrook until it became a dictatorship. Poleglass has begun relations with the president of the Republic of Roscamistan and the King of the Kingdom of Hurikano, but it hasn't gone far as of yet

Poleglass City
Poleglass City is by far the largest and most populous townland. It is the centre of Poleglass shopping and living. Many housing developments are located here, such as Old Colin, Glenkeen and Glengoland. An exact population of the city is unknown, but its thought to be over half the nations population
Woodbourne Town
Located in the outskirts of Poleglass, Woodbourne joined the nation in mid 2022. Woodbourne has a huge police station as well as a selection of shops. City status for Woodbourne has been debated, but it has been rejected due to its current lack of infrastructure and small population.
The Holy City of the Nativity
This is the religious hub of Poleglass. It is the smallest townland, but was awarded city status due to its religious significance.
Colin Glen Forest Park Special District
This special townland has no permanent population. As Poleglass' only national park, it was given special status. This will make sure the area is protected and kept as a wildlife haven

Geography and climate
Poleglass, for the most part, is flat, except for a small portion of Black Mountain at the northen tip of the nation. Two rivers flow through the country those being Derriaghy and Colin Rivers.
The Coin River makes its start outside Poleglass. In Poleglass, it flows from near the stone quarry in Black Mountain, and flows all the way down through Colin Glen Forest. The river then flows into Dunmurry, where it flows through Dunmurry City and into the River Lagan.
Derriaghy River starts in the forests of Western Poleglass. Its flows into the Poleglass City centre where it crosses the border into Kilwee, Dunmurry. The river ends shortly after.
Economy
Poleglass' main exports are stone and coal. In March 2022 Poleglass went through an economic crisis due to a lack of exports. The government invested in reopening a disused quarry and the coal industry to fix the crisis
Culture and media
PGTV is the main television station for the nation. PGTV Plc. also runs PGRadio. These media services are yet to launch

Flags
Known as the "Starred Tricolour", the flag is green white and pink tricolour with a double coloured star in the middle, featuring the national colours. The pink represents supporters of Poleglass Independence,the green represents supporters CSOC reunification and the white represents the peace between the communities. It is similar in its symbolism to Irelands tricolour.
