Pate Island is one of the islands in the estuary of the Gironde. It is home to one of three forts built by Vauban in the seventeenth century to defend the city of Bordeaux: Fort Paté. It is listed since 2008 on the UNESCO list of World Heritage.
Since 2013, the island is now part of the territory claimed by the Principality of Hélianthis.
