Paddaya, officially the Province of Paddaya (Ilocano: Probinsia ti Paddaya; baybayin: ᜉᜇ᜔ᜇᜌ), is a landlocked province of Arlandica located in the island of Luzon near Sierra Madre, Philippines' longest mountain range. Its administrative center is Daya.
It was founded by Joshua Borja, who is the current governor of the province, on August 2020 as the State of Mofuadal. Paddaya is known for its obsession in Burmese culture.
History
The State of Paddaya started with an inspiration. Its Founder, Joshua Borja, was inspired while watching a video about micronations which is about the Republic of Molossia. From that idea he started to build his own and named it The State of Mofuadal. Mofuadal was founded in August 27, 2020. Mofuadal is an independent micronation located inside the Municipality of Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines.
On May 27, 2021, the Prime Minister declared the transition of Mofuadal into a Republic calling it The Republic of Maurisia. With its new form of government, the President (former Prime Minister) hope to make the people's voice stand out and be heard for he believed in the saying "All for one, One for all."
As the Republic experienced the tension of the Pandemic it struggled to help most of the citizens but with the unity of the people it built a strong bridge to help one another amidst the pandemic and bring help to everyone who needed. On August 27, 2022, alongside with the creation of the New State namely the State of Paddaya and later became the Province of Paddaya, Joshua signed an agreement to join the Kingdom of Arlandica and become one of its ally hoping that it will help the province and its people.
People and culture
Arlandicans living in the province are often called as Paddayans. The province of Paddaya unilaterally declared Myanmar as its first foreign friend. The people of Paddaya take great pride in their cultural identity and are committed to preserving their customs and traditions.
One of the most notable cultural artifacts of Paddaya is the Pandar language, created by Joshua Borja, which serves as one of the provincial languages in Arlandica. Its script is identical to the one used in Myanmar. The Pandar language and script were developed in Paddaya and have been in use since the foundation. The script holds significant respect in Paddaya.
Alongside Pandar, the Baybayin script is also widely utilized as a writing system within the province. Elements of Baybayin can be observed in Paddaya's coat of arms.
Geography
Paddaya is a contiguous enclave and fully surrounded within the borders of Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Viscaya, Philippines. It is entirely rural. The province has a small creek named after the province and a mountain (Mount Sagat).
Government
The Governor-Representative of Paddaya is appointed by the monarch.
