The Order of Cordova is the second highest order of the Reino de Cordova. The intention of the Order is to honor those who have provided a service to Cordova. It was created on 27 August 2002 as the first order of the newly established Enclave de Codova, for which it served as the highest order until March 2021, when the newly revamped Order of the Redwood Throne was moved ahead of it in precedence.
There are three classes of the Order, each with their own unique regalia:
- Knight/Dame which is denoted by the wear of a medallion suspended from a red and green drape ribbon.
- Knight/Dame Commander which is denoted by the wear of a medallion of the order affixed to a red and green necklet. Dames Commander may elect to wear the medallion attached to a red and yellow bow.
- Knight/Dame Grand Cross which is denoted by the wear of the star of the order and a red and green sash, worn from the right shoulder to the left hip.
While Baron Gilbert was the first font of honor for the order, this only lasted for a little over a year, until the Empire of Agber restructured its honors and created the designation of "National Order," which applied to the Order of Cordova. At that time, Empress Arlene became the font of honor. She would continue to serve in this role until the order was handed over to Cordovese responsibility and control in 2020.
During the Empire's Second Age, Empress Arlene had a rather contentious relationship with Baronesa Nicolette and her successor, Baron Peter. As a result, she appointed new provincial heads to the rank of Knight or Dame, but refused to elevate any memberships to a higher rank.
Sovereign of the Order
The current Sovereign and font of honor for the order is Reina Celestina, as the reigning monarch of Cordova. While her current rank of Dame Grand Cross officially is equal in precedence with others who hold that rank, her status as Member Ex-Officio gives her functional precedence within the order.
