The Monarchy of Yalta is the head of state and ruler of the Kingdom of Yalta. The monarch holds absolute power and also sits as head of the royal family of Yalta. The monarch is titled as a King or a Queen and is addressed as "His Majesty" or "Her Majesty" depending on the gender of the reigning monarch.
The current monarch is King Oswald I.
History
The Yaltan monarchy was established on 1 May 2023 - it is the oldest national office and institution.
Powers
The monarch holds absolute powers over Yalta and is the most powerful Yaltan official. As an absolute monarch, the monarchy has nothing limiting their power. This comes with abilities to do things such as rule by decree, appoint whomever they wish to government (parliamentarian or non-parliamentarian) create, abolish and grant titles as well as grant royal assent to parliamentary bills or veto them without the ability for parliament to overturn it. The monarch can also dismiss a government or parliament as a whole.
Role
While the monarchy does have absolute power, they still have some specific roles and duties they carry out. These include:
- Supreme Governor of the Church of Yalta
- Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
- Functions as Head of State
- Assenting or Vetoing Parliamentary Bills
