The Minister of Transport, unofficially the Transport Minister, is an executive department head in the Government of Lugrad and member of the Council of Ministers. They have overall responsibility for the Department of Transport and for transport policy.
Role
The transport minister has overall remit for the Department of Transport. Some of their duties include:
- Overseeing Transport Policy
- Advising the Prime Minister on Areas of Transport
- Making Sure Transport in the Republic is Safe and Sustainable
Appointment
The transport minister is appointed by the President of Lugrad in their capacity as head of state. However, the president typically does this on the nomination of the prime minister. The transport minister, like the prime minister, is typically a member of the Assembly of the Republic.
