The Prime Minister of Lugrad is the head of government and chairman of the Council of Ministers in the Republic of Lugrad. As head of government, the prime minister coordinates the actions of ministers, represents the Government of Lugrad to the other bodies of state, is accountable to parliament and keeps the president informed. The prime minister can hold the role of head of government with the portfolio of one or more ministries.
There is no limit to the number of terms a person can serve as prime minister. The prime minister is appointed by the President of Lugrad.
History
The office of prime minister originated as the "Premier of Lugrad" on 25 February 2023. However, the name of this office was changed to Prime Minister later that day.
Appointment
The prime minister is appointed by the President of Lugrad, typically based on who can command the most confidence in the Assembly of the Republic. The assembly member appointed is normally a senior member or leader of the party they belong to.

The role of the prime minister includes, but is not limited to:

- Guiding the Legislative Process in Cabinet and Parliament

In the event of the presidency becoming vacant, the prime minister becomes acting president until a new president is elected by the assembly.
