The 19th Grand Senate election of Elysium was held from the 20 to 24 of May 2023, all fifteen Grand Senate seats were elected. The election lasted exactly forty-eight hours. The Progressive-Labor Party shocked the incumbent National Democrats, led by the newly elected leader Thomas Bainbridge and won the election forming the next government. This returned Adam Johnston to power for his third stint of power. The election is widely considered to be the most shocking in Elysiumite history due to the expectation of most voters being that another National Democratic government would be returned. This would be the first and final time that the Progressive-Labor Party would contest and win an election as Johnston's successor, Sean O'Neill restored the party's name to the 'Progressive Party' in April 2024.
